[Ramadan Buffet Special]

Ying and I headed over to TEMPTations at Renaissance KL Hotel for their “Iftar Indulgence” Ramadan buffet preview where we got to try a wide variety of local and Asian specialties including traditional Malay dishes normally found during the buka puasa.
Some of the recommended items included the Nasi minyak, Nasi tomato and Nasi bukhari to an array of “gulai”, roasted whole lamb with percik sauce, gado-gado, Rojak buah, Pasembor, an assortment of crackers, pickled fruits, bubur lambuk, daging tulang rawan rendang pedas, Daging Palembang, Udang harimau masak lemak cili padi, Otak-otak kuah padang, and Kampung style ikan bakar and accompanied by its hot and spicy sauces.
There were also some ‘live cooking stations’ which prepared on order grilled seafood, chicken and beef satays with its classic peanut sauce, while the noodle station had Laksa Johor, Laksa Penang, Laksa Kelantan and Nyonya Laksa. Local favourites such as Rendang Minang, Gulai kawah or Rendang tok are available on a rotation basis, while there are also the Western, Chinese and Indian selections available.
For sweet tooths out there, there is a large spread of Nyonya & Malay kuih such as Seri muka, Kuih kasui, Kuih lapis, Pulut panggang, Pulut inti, Kuih lompang, Kuih keria, Kuih angku, Kuih bakar, Tepung gomak, Cucur badak and Wajik. Malay cakes and snacks included – Bahulu, Dodol, Kuih bangkit, Kuih ros, Murukku, Buah rotan, Rempeyek, Kuih kapit, Kek pisang, Kek lapis and Kek kurma.
Every evening, there will be two types of Malay bubur served from an array of Bubur jagung, Bubur pulut hitam, Bubur kacang merah, Pengat keladi, Pengat pisang, Bubur cha cha, Serawa durian, Serawa pulut nangka, Bubur kacang hijau with durian and Bubur gandum.

TEMPTationS’ Iftar Buffet is available daily from 6.30pm to 10.30pm daily throughout the month of Ramadan, and is priced at RM108.00++ per person and half price for children from 6 to 12 years old.
Early birds will also enjoy great savings as the buffet is priced at RM88.16nett per person from 29 June to 4 July and 24 July to 27 July 2014.
