R&B fans in Kuala Lumpur are in for a treat this May as the international multi award-winning singer-songwriter, arranger, producer, and R&B musician Brian McKnight will be performing his first ever concert titled “More Than Words” after his latest album, at Putra World Trade Center, Kuala Lumpur on 9 May 2014.
This concert is organised by JAG Concerts & Events which is a dynamic company specialising in event design and concert promotion, previously bringing a string of acclaimed international performers such as Diana Ross, Michael Buble, David Foster & friends, and many more to Malaysia.
JAG Concerts & Events portfolio of services range from organizing concerts and events to theme park and stage design with plans to expand its current services to include tourism related parks and events as well. The company was founded by R James Alexander Ali Simargolang back in 2009, and prior to founding JAG, R James was with Buena Vista International (Europe) where he honed his creative and management skills in the entertainment and events industry.
Here’s a little message from Brian.
Brian McKnight plays eight (8) musical instruments including the piano, guitar and even the trombone, and his musical talents has earned him a spot in contemporary music history, having released 15 albums to-date and sold well over 20 million albums worldwide. Along with 16 Grammy nominations, Brian McKnight has been the recipient of American Music Awards, Soul Train Awards, NAACP Image and Blockbuster Awards, and Billboard Songwriter of The Year.
Brian McKnight is most famous for his hit, “Back at One” on Motown Records in 1999, which sold over three million copies worldwide, although fans like me also know him for his songs “One Last Cry”, “6, 8, 12” and his romantic duet with Mariah Carey – “Whenever You Call”. In his career, McKnight has worked with famous artistes such as Quincy Jones, Justin Timberlake, Mariah Carey, Diddy, Christina Aguilera, Rascal Flatts, Nelly, Vanessa Williams, Willie Nelson and Kenny G.
A New Yorker by birth, McKnight signed his first recording deal with Mercury Records. In 1992, his self-titled album “Brian McKnight” was released followed by “I Remember You” (1995) and “Anytime” (1997). “Anytime” sold over two million copies and was nominated for a Grammy.
Be prepared for a night of ballads and love songs, and it would be a great opportunity to bring your partner along for an unforgettable experience.
