Asahi Future Music Festival Asia 2014 Pre-Parties

Asahi Super Dry continues its sponsorship of Future Music Festival Asia (FMFA) coming in as the official beer partner for 2014. This time round, Asahi will be presenting the Haunted House Arena stage in this year’s festival, featuring their Super Dry AllStars.

Prior to FMFA 2014 and staying true to its promise of Igniting Possibilities, Asahi Super Dry will be hosting two (2) pre-parties and rewarding Asahi fans around Malaysia for their supreme support by giving them a chance to win VIP and FMFA passes. Consumers will also get a chance to win passes at Asahi’s in-outlet contests.

The coming pre-parties will take place on Friday, 28 February at Prodigy (previously Butter Factory) featuring DJ’s Ramsey Westwood, Mr Nasty & Guru Guru and Monkey & Funkzu.

The following week, the second pre party will happen on Thursday, 6 March at Play at The Roof featuring DJ’s Nikki and Partners.In.Crime.

Burg Smart Watch Phone Launch

Headed over to the launch of the Burg Smart Watch Phone at their new concept store Mad.Is.On in Bangsar Village 2 on 23 January 2014. The watch is a phone by itself (using a micro SIM) and doesn’t need to be paired with a smartphone. There are four (4) different BURG watches in four different settings namely Sports, Leisure, Corporate and Night Life.

If you’re an 80’s baby you would probably remember how Michael Knight in the 80’s TV series Knight Rider used to talk to his car Kit via a watch? Well fast forward 25 years and that little gadget has become a reality! What’s more, put a micro SD card inside the Burg smart watch phone and you can store photos captured with your watch or play your fav music tracks. How cool is that?

The launch was hosted by Joey G, and was graced by celebrities such as Patricia K, Pamela and Vanessa Chong (Amazing Race Asia) with their brother Vince Chong (of Akademi Fantasia), Moots from Popshuvit, and Bernie Chan.

O’Galito Mediterranean Restaurant & Bar Launch

A new Mediterranean food outlet names O’Galito Restaurant and Bar recently opened its doors on 19 February at Pavilion KL. During the launch the restaurant proudly paraded their signature dishes from the likes of Portugal, Greece, Italy and Spain, including Italian Linguini with freshly sourced seafood, Portugese Chicken Piri-Piri, tender Braised Beef Cheeks and Tiramisu.

Unfortunately I cannot tell you how they tasted as guests were only served canapes apart from the drinks. The kitchen is run by half Italian, half Spanish Chef Domenico Piras who first received his culinary diploma at the tender age of 16, and was trained by Chef Mauro Ernesto, the Godfather of Italian food who earned his world-renowned reputation by being one of the first chefs in Italy to earn a Michelin star.

Since completing his intense training with the Godfather, Chef Domenico has worked around the world for personalities such as the Ranieri Family of Monaco, the President of Kazakhstan and various Italian actors and celebrities. His culinary skills have more recently brought him over to our part of the world – Brunei, Libya, Singapore and finally Malaysia.

Besides the signature dishes, O’Galito also serves great pasta and pizza made in a stone oven, Spanish Tapas and is pork free.
