Fitflop
Inspired by the simplicity and grace of the Japanese Tea Ceremony, Fitflop’s High Summer 2013 range features four simple and elegant sandals. All non-essentials have been stripped away, leaving only the enjoyment of the encumbered path. The Graceful Suisei™ shimmers with a comet-tail of crystals, much like the surface of a reflective pond. While the pretty Hanibira™ (“petals” in Japanese) has oversized patent leather and suede upper flower petals that are origami-inspired. Minimalists will be in quiet awe of the simple, classic lines of the Sho™ sandal. The understated leather-covered Bon™ sandals feature statement buckles by visionary designer, Ross Lovegrove. These sandals will take you from poolside to markets to dinner dates with ease, and each sandal has Fitflop’s biomechanically engineered pressure–diffusing microwobbleboard™ midsoles, so not only do they look beautiful, they feel incredibly comfortable too.

A brand with humble market stalls beginnings (they were first sold in Camden Market) and deeply rooted in London, Boxfresh has been an original bastion of British Streetwear since 1989. Boxfresh refreshes its creative direction for SS13 apparel and footwear by reclaiming its rightful status as one of London street style originators. Clean and sharp lines coupled with sport and street style influences create a bold SS13 collection that delivers nothing but Boxfresh originality, reinvigorated for a new season. Boxfresh core colours include navy, khaki, white and grey marl, while the new seasonal palette is made up from a mixture of blues, strong reds and bright warm yellows. An introduction of technical fabrics such as waxed coated nylons and digital camo prints validates the sportswear qualities of the collection.

Lyle & Scott
Established in 1847, Lyle & Scott is known as a heritage brand, touted as “The Original Golf Brand” with 139 years of knitwear manufacturing. From 1950s till the 70s, Lyle & Scott supplied some of the world’s most iconic fashion houses such as Christian Dior, Yves St Laurent and Chanel. By the 80s, the “Scottish knitwear” brand has ventured beyond golf courses and fashion runways onto “casuals”, a British subculture.
A decade later, it’s photographed on some of key indie artists such as Arctic Monkeys. Fast forward another 10 years, and it’s proclaimed by fashion editors as “The Uniform of British Youth”. Today, Lyle & Scott continues to reinvent classics. Labelling its collection as “Contemporary Vintage”, it offers more than just the usual collared shirts and other preppy basics befitting of the modern gentleman by tapping into the more fashion forward sentiments of today’s more style conscious individuals through a more sophisticated approach to casual wear. Known for offering styles and designs that express originality, authenticity and never one to compromise, the brand reestablishes itself as one of the more enduring fashion brands in Europe. Lately, the ubiquitous golden eagle logo was spotted on a grey hoodie worn by none other than One Direction member and Taylor Swift’s ex, Harry Stiles.
