Now I’m quite accustomed to attending car launches but the launch of a car showroom? But when the invite came to check out the new NZ Wheels Bangsar Autohaus curiosity got the better of me so I headed over on a very hot and sunny Thursday morning, 4 July 2013.
The new NZ Wheels Bangsar Autohaus is no ordinary showroom. In line with the brand’s constant quest to deliver on fascination, performance and perfection – 3 words synonymous with the brand promise of Mercedes-Benz, the new 3-storey showroom houses 11 showroom vehicles and its entire concept enhances the retail mix of Bangsar by offering a whole new lifestyle automotive experience making the neighbourhood even more upscale!
The new autohaus represents an investment of around RM15 million by NZ Wheels and involved both designing and outfitting the outlet as well as soft costs such as training the staff so that they are well versed on every product offered in the showroom.
Having pioneered the Autohaus concept in Malaysia the premium luxury vehicle brand continues to boast the largest dealer and service network comprising of 31 dealers amongst premium brands in Malaysia. And, with the opening of this newest Autohaus the facility commensurates yet another milestone for Mercedes-Benz as it will be the first fully MPS II Compliant 1S (this is a revamp of the Mercedez-Benz image to show that the brand also appeals to the younger, non-uncle market) Showroom in the country.
For Mercedes-Benz, the ambition to provide a superlative customer experience meant that nothing was considered too luxurious for their customers and no expenses were spared when it came to furnishing the Autohaus, as everything including sofas, lifts and even the very coffee customers will enjoy in the showroom are imported from Europe.
NZ Wheels Bangsar is also the first Corporate Solutions Centre for Mercedes-Benz in South East Asia. Business owners from small, medium sized to multinational conglomerates can now receive customised corporate solutions ranging from attractive fleet offers to fleet financing solutions to meet every business need.
In his speech, Datuk Wira SM Faisal Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin, NAZA Group of Companies Joint Group Executive Chairman shared “We have the utmost confidence in this venture in Bangsar. The NZ Wheels Bangsar Autohaus is the first Corporate Solution Centre in South East Asia and NZ Wheels are further cementing their commitment and confidence to the brand by investing a total of RM 15 million for this project.”
He further added “Another key highlight of the Autohaus in Bangsar is that it houses the very first AMG Corner (on the first floor of the autohaus) in the country where true motor enthusiasts are able to experience what the Mercedes AMG brand stands for.”
According to MBM, it plans to invest an additional RM280 million until 2016, of which 200 will be used for its retail network. These plans further enhance customer focus and after sales service, strengthening as well as extending brand equity with the aim of ensuring that every delivery of the MBM service experience goes beyond the vehicle itself and together with its dealers, offer customers unparalleled service.
MBM vice-president of sales and marketing Kai Schlickum added “For us here at MBM, the pursuit to be No.1 in customer satisfaction is not short-term lip service but a long term, concerted effort in meeting the high expectations of Mercedes-Benz owners.”
The new NZ Wheels Bangsar Autohaus is the first Mercedes-Benz dealership in Malaysia to operate from 10.00am to 10.00pm daily, 365 days a year and is located at the intersection right opposite Bangsar Village 1 and TMC in Lucky Gardens:
