BT. He is an artist in the electronica genre – most often considered a composer of trance music, but known to work within several other styles. BT has also produced and written for artists such as Paul Van Dyk, Peter Gabriel, 'N Sync, Sting, Blake Lewis, Tori Amos, and Tiësto.

BT is pretty well known in the EDM scene, mostly for his behind the scenes work as a composer of trance music, and has also produced and written for artists such as Paul Van Dyk, Peter Gabriel, ‘N Sync, and Tiësto.

DJ Shogun was voted into the DJ Mag 2011 world rankings at #122, and has headlined events across the globe and also served as resident DJ for the prominent Ministry of Sound nightclub for over 3 years.

He is no stranger to the EDM scene having started DJ-ing professionally back in 1987 and I've actually seen his perform live in KL before but it's nice to see him again. Jules has mixed countless DJ mix compilations for Ministry Of Sound, Universal and Warner Bros, including the legendary MoS Annuals and the Clubbers’ Guide and Trance Nation. Altogether Jules has racked up well over three million compilation sales, with many releases reaching Platinum, Gold and Silver status.

Group pic of the Asahi promoter girls! If you haven’t figured it out by now Asahi was the official beer partner for the event. Asahi is very involved in music and has so far been the beer partner for notable raves such as Swedish House Mafia’s – One Last Tour at Sunway Lagoon and the two-day Future Music Festival 2013.

The following night it was over to The Pool along Jalan Ampang for the KC & Friends Pool Party IV featuring Cedric Gervais. Who is Cedric Gervais? Well he is is a French house music DJ and producer, famous for his hit ‘Molly’ which is is a love story about a girl in the form of a club-smash.

According to his official biography, as a young teenager, Cedric, who is originally from Marseilles, headed to St Tropez. There he got a summer residency at the famed Papa Gaio club. He was only 14 years old, not even legally old enough to party with the people he played for. This quickly turned into a residency at Paris’ Queen club. Knowing the only path for him was music, Cedric pleaded with his father to take him out of school so he could concentrate on DJing. His father agreed, and, as is customary in France, went to the local courts to put Cedric’s case forward. Then at just 15 years old and not speaking any English he decided Paris wasn’t challenging him enough musically so he packed up and moved to Miami. This was at a time when an exciting movement within the club scene was happening in Miami; Big clubs were opening, the power of residencies were becoming ever more evident, Cedric saw this opportunity and jumped in.

Check out his music video.

Oh BTW Asahi is distributed in Malaysia by Carlsberg Malaysia who recently won the Gold Award at the recent Putra Brand Awards 2013. Carlsberg is the only alcoholic beverage that has bagged the Gold Award for four consecutive years making the brand one of 12 Putra Brand Icons.

In addition to the Putra Brand Awards, Carlsberg has been voted as the Most Trusted Beer Brand at the Reader’s Digest Trusted Brand Awards over the last 14 years and the Best Brand for Beer Award in the food and beverage category at the BrandLaureate Awards 2011-2012, as well as the Best CSR Initiatives Award at The Edge Billion Ringgit Club Corporate Awards.

Among the major platforms that have helped the brand engage with its consumers in a uniquely Carlsberg way are “Where’s the Party?”, sponsorships of golf at the Maybank Malaysian Open and Carlsberg Golf Classic tournaments as well as football, with Carlsberg organizing a series of Barclays Premier League viewing parties that included the recent appearances of legendary EPL players. (Read about that here – https://timchew.net/2013/04/25/stadium-carlsberg-epl-greats-visit-malaysia-210413/)

Carlsberg cements their place in football in the coming EPL season as the brand officially kick-starts its role as the League’s beer partner for three years.

Organised in association with the Malaysia’s Most Valuable Brands (MMVB), the Putra Brand Awards is a recognition and brand valuation exercise initiated by the Association of Accredited Advertising Agents Malaysia (4As) to recognise brands that are near and dear to the hearts of Malaysians. The Awards measures brands by consumer preference utilising a robust consumer research methodology developed by Pulse Group.

BTW you can read about my experience at last year’s Where’s The Party? (WTP) here – https://timchew.net/2012/11/24/adv-carlsbergs-wheres-the-party-2012/

Here’s a little teaser on the upcoming WTP.
