Moto GP 2012 @ Sepang International Circuit

I was invited to go to the Marlboro M-Scape VIP Lounge in conjunction with the Moto GP last Saturday (20 October 2012). I spent pretty much the entire day there and in the afternoon I had some spare time therefore I took a walk from the paddock to the mall area to check out the booths on display.

At the KTM Racing booth (and no it does NOT stand for Keretapi Tanah Melayu)
At the Kawasaki booth
The Pirelli booth attracted a lot of attention…
The lovely lovely lovely Shermaine Chow
At the Honda booth
Sweet Mandy and the sexy Shermayne!
Walked over to the helipad for the Rockaway concert. Stayed for a while and had a couple of cold ones as the weather was pretty hot.

Headed back to the Marlboro M-Scape VIP Lounge as I needed to catch the bus back to KL with my girls.

Earlier in the week (on Wednesday, 17 October 2012 to be exact) I attended the Remy Martin Centaur Dance Competition media launch at Emporium Grand Cafe in Kuala Lumpur.

Haven’t had Remy Martin in a while. It’s a pretty good cognac and I enjoyed mine with ice and a little water.
Join the search and represent Malaysia in the international finals!

So you think you can dance as good or better than the actors in the Step Up movie? Read on…

What is the Remy Martin Centaur Dance Showdown?

The competition aims to find the greatest dance talent across 6 countries; namely Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines and India in a series of preliminary rounds that will be the battlegrounds for aspiring dance crews in their pursuit of fame and recognition of their talent.

Following the success of the inaugural competition held in Vietnam last year, Rémy Martin was inspired to extend the competition regionally, discovering the most outstanding dance groups in each of the 6 countries before holding the final round of the Centaur Dance Showdown in Singapore in January 2013.

“We are delighted to provide these gifted performers with the platform from which they may showcase their passion, creativity, refined skills and undeniable talent to both a national and international audience. For the first time in Malaysia, the Rémy Martin Centaur Dance Showdown will give these dancers the opportunity to demonstrate their artistry and finesse in choreographed routines, competing against the region’s finest urban street dancers for the title of Asia’s Best Dance Crew,” said Mr. Laurent Soulat, Regional Marketing Manager for South East Asia, Middle East & India, Rémy Cointreau International.

“Rémy Martin is known for being a cognac brand that epitomises vitality and superior quality. These are two attributes which can also be found in the dance groups competing in the Centaur Dance Showdown,” he added.

How to participate?

Each team must consist of 5 people, with all members aged 18 years or above and of Malaysian nationality (non-Muslim), and must complete the official Rémy Martin Centaur Dance Showdown registration form online ( and submit their dance video (3 minutes or less) online ( by no later than 11 November 2012.

The videos will then be featured online from 1 to 20 November 2012, where fans can vote for their favourite dance crews. On the panel for the Malaysian finals are Joel Tan (accredited dance instructor and founder of Urban Groove Dance Network who pioneered the original street and urban dance styles in Malaysia), Maple Loo (experienced dancer, choreographer and judge on 8TV’s own dance competition Showdown) and Patricia Knudsen (a seasoned performer, model, host and DJ of mixed Danish and Malaysian Chinese parentage. She is a winner of numerous dance awards and has many accolades to her name).

The top 10 crews with the highest scores and public votes will compete before the judges in the Rémy Martin Centaur Dance Showdown Malaysia Finals at Sunway Giza on 30 November 2012. The champion will be chosen based on criteria such as overall performance, creativity, showmanship and stage presence, synchronization and execution and musicality, and will go on to represent Malaysia in the International Finals in Singapore on 18 January 2013.

What can you win?

The winning Malaysian team will not only have the honour of representing Malaysia in the International Finals in Singapore but will also take away RM10,000. First and second runners up will receive RM6,000 and RM3,000 respectively.

But wait! There’s more!

Rémy Martin’s brand ambassador and sexy international superstar, Jolin Tsai (yummy!), is set to grace the International Finals; lending her experience as a dancer and taking a seat at the judging panel. As an additional treat for the expected 1,000 invited guests and audience members, Jolin will hold a mini-concert; entertaining the crowd with some of her greatest hits.

Jolin Tsai (who is the same age as me!) is a Taiwanese Golden Melody Award-winning Mandopop singer, dancer and actor.
And she is one sexy fox!

A grand prize of USD$10,000 awaits the winner of the International Rémy Martin Centaur Dance Showdown who will also walk away with the title of Asia’s Best Dance Crew!
