Food Panda Review – O’Briens Irish Sandwich Cafe

The MHB girls and I joined the nice folks at Food Panda and some local bloggers for a bloggers buka puasa review of O’Briens Irish Sandwich Cafe in Mid Valley Megamall, Kuala Lumpur. Food Panda? What the heck is that? Well Food Panda is an online food delivery service which spans Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya including Bangsar, Mon’t Kiara, Bukit Bintang and even Cyberjaya!

Food Panda offers more than 100 food outlets and restaurants however this will depend on your area. I tried the website and entered in my housing area of Tropicana, Petaling Jaya and discovered that there are 14 outlets serving my area. Service charge depends on outlet and may vary from RM0.00 (yes nothing) to RM6.00 for my area.

Some of the key outlets under them includes O’Briens Irish Sandwich Cafe, Canadian 2 for 1 Pizza, Sushi King, Secret Recipe, Fatty Crabs, ChicKing Fried Chicken, The Meat Experts and Hakka KL.

Now I have never tried O’Briens before so I was rather curious as to what I would find there. O’Briens Mid Valley Megamall is located on the LG floor just a couple of doors away from McDonalds and is a lifestyle chain cafe which offers hand-cut sandwiches, freshly tossed wraps, soups, salads, coffee, tea freshly squeezed juice and even smoothies!

578834_413468755366264_652089338_n — Chicken Tripledecker (RM18.80) – Toostie with chicken, chicken crisp, lettuce, cheddar cheese, red onion, coleslaw and tomato. I liked this one quite a lot! The chicken crisp added an interesting bit of texture and to the sandwich.

207506_413468682032938_819469738_n — Sundried Tomato on Hot Ciabatta (RM15.80) – Toostie with sundried tomato, red onion, fresh tomato, mozzarella cheese, roasted vegetables and basil pesto. Ideal for vegetarians. Being the carnivore that I am I needed my meat but I thought this was ok.

376721_413468712032935_427939573_n — Ramadan special – Curry Chicken Mayo Sandwich (RM16.00) – comes with cashew nuts and grapes which offers a contrast of flavours! I hope they keep this on the menu after the fasting month. Oh yeah you also get a cup of ice lemon tea together with your sandwich!

O’Briens also has (value) combos for one or two persons and platters for 5 to 12 persons. So the next time your boss wants to have a working breakfast/ lunch or (hopefully not) dinner meeting you can visit http://foodpanda.my to order some healthy and delicious sandwiches.
