[Event]
I eagerly awaited this event as whenever I’m in Langkawi (and I was there yearly some years back when I was in the Ironman Langkawi organising committee) I drink Asahi most of the time! However to my dismay a huge downpour on Tuesday, 13 December 2011 caused Jalan Tun Razak to become a river and hence impassable to traffic. Darn!
Actually contemplated taking the LRT to KL but after waiting out the jam decided to pick up Naomi and take our chances. Fortunately the waters and the jam had subsided and thus we were able to make it to the Double Tree by Hilton in time to attend the launch.
Ok here’s what happened…
Carlsberg Malaysia added another brand to its premium beer segment by adding Asahi Super Dry, the No.1 beer from Japan following a recent agreement signing with Asahi Breweries Ltd (ABL). Carlsberg Malaysia has been awarded the rights to locally manufacture, sell and distribute one of Asia’s fastest growing premium beers.
Commenting on the launch of Asahi Super Dry, Soren Ravn, Managing Director of Carlsberg Brewery Malaysia Bhd said that “Malaysian’s can now enjoy Asahi Super Dry using Karakuchi, a secretly guarded Japanese brewing style, that has not only captured the taste buds of premium beer drinkers the world over but that has also set the gold standard in Japanese brewing.”
He said that “Given Japan’s cultural obsession for perfection and uncompromising product quality standards, we are indeed delighted to have been awarded the rights to manufacture Asahi Super Dry locally. Such a landmark agreement is testament to CarlsbergMalaysia’s brewing expertise and exacting values. It also means that product freshness is always assured and so is competitive pricing in the premium beer segment.”
Enough talking already! Bring out the beer!!! Tim is thirsty!

It was a fun night with good company, dance performances, delicious food, eye-candy, and of course loads of Asahi draught! Can’t wait to have it at my fav watering holes.
