Here’s a little info on the Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve
According to the Johnnie Walker website, Johnnie Walker Gold Reserve is a special blend made from a select few casks the Master Blender sets aside for his private reserve from the seven million casks of maturing whiskies in the reserves of Johnnie Walker®. The result of his foresight and discerning taste is Johnnie Walker® Gold Label Reserve™.
The whiskies used to make this premium blend are some of the most elegant Scotch whiskies. At the heart of the Gold Label Reserve™ is the sweet, fruity and warm Clynelish™ single malt. Its special ingredient is the water that flows over legendary gold deposits in the mountains of Kildonand.
The Johnnie Walker® Gold Label Reserve™ has a beautiful and grand structure that unfolds like a great big wave. Starting off with an intense sweetness, the flavours build up to a rich and fresh fruitiness, before mellowing out with a lingering softness.
Johnnie Walker® Master Blender, Jim Beveridge (whom I had the pleasure to meet during his trip to launch the Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve in Malaysia) recommends serving the Gold Label Reserve™ with ice. The different layers of the whisky’s flavours are slowly revealed as the ice melts.
