Food Review – Ecoba’s 2011 Menu
The nice folks at Ecoba invited Malaysia’s Hottest Bloggers for dinner to try their new 2011 menu which includes best-sellers from their 2010 menu coupled with many new dishes and cocktails galore!
Here’s what went down…
The new 2011 menuThe usual suspects - Erica, Nicole and SarahKerabu Seafood Nusantara – RM 23 - This chef’s signature dish features squids, mussels, prawns and fish tossed with glass noodles, kaffir lime leaf, ginger flower and served with mango salsa. Light, sour and really perks up the palate for the dishes to follow.Crispy Calamari Salad – RM20 - served with wasabi yogurt dressing. Heaven for 'sotong goreng' lovers like myself!Thai Fried Rice – RM15 - Thai style fried rice with seafood and chicken, served with local fresh salad and Ecoba's sambal! I like the spicy sambal and I always request for more of it!Ecoba Triple Decker Sandwich – RM20 - charcoal bread sandwich with a layers of Cheddar cheese and smoked chicken breastSpaghetti Arrabiatta – RM18 - spaghetti served with a classic pasta sauce containing black olives, bell peppers, onions and grande padano. Spicy and a must-try for pasta lovers!
Smoked Salmon Sandwich - RM22 - toasted Focaccia bread with chilli coated smoked salmon and lemon zest on a bed of Romaine lettuce. Healthy!Ecoba Surf N Turf – RM55 - Can't decide on meat or seafood? Why not have both! King prawns, salmon fillets, lamb cutlets and fillet mignon all grilled to sumptuous perfection. Served with a side salad and butter lemon sauce plus apple compote. Don't be greedy and share this one.Grain Fed Rib Eye Steak - RM88 - jacket potatoes, grilled tomatoes and corn on the cob. A meat lover's dream come true! (portion featured here is double to feed all of MHB's hungry mouths)Creme Brulee – RM8 - a classic French dessert paired with a kiwi mango compote. A modern twist to an old classic!Crispy Mango - RM8 - mango popiah a la mode! Now on to the drinking bit!High Voltage (lychee shooters)Celebrity blogger Cindy Tey was one of our special guestsIncredible MargaritaWatermelon MojitoABSOLUT ElectricMojito Apple - RM28Blue BananaPineapple and Mint MargaritaMHB with our guests Cindy, Ivone, Pauline and Kelly and our host for the night Kean
I thought that it’s definitely a welcome change as there is more variety to the menu. That and the fact that they now serve a lot of meat dishes at somewhat reasonable prices coupled with nice ambience and it’s located 10 minutes away from my house will definitely have me visiting Ecoba pretty often in 2011.
Parking is a breeze as the PJ Trade Centre carpark is big, well-lit and guarded. Always park inside as it’s safer and only RM2.00 if you enter after 6.00pm (the so-called ‘jockeys’ outside will extort nothing less than RM5.00 from you).
Well we certainly had a good time Eating, Chilling and Ogling!
