Atlantis Automobili Appointed Official Importer and Distributor of Maserati in Malaysia
Atlantis Automobili Sdn. Bhd., an associate company of Atlantis Motor Group, has been appointed the official importer and distributor of Maserati in Malaysia, effective 19 May 2026, the companies announced Monday.
The appointment gives Atlantis Automobili responsibility for Maserati’s operations across Malaysia, including sales, aftersales service, customer experience, brand development and network operations. The company said the transition had been planned to maintain continuity of service for existing Maserati owners in the country.
The change comes as Maserati marks the 100th anniversary of the creation of its Trident emblem. The Modena-based brand, founded more than 112 years ago, has built its identity around what it calls the “Italian GranTurismo” concept, combining design, performance and craftsmanship.
“As we begin this exciting new chapter for Maserati in Malaysia, our foremost commitment is to our customers and owners. Maserati is a brand built on heritage, craftsmanship and passion, and we fully recognise the responsibility that comes with representing such an iconic marque. Our immediate focus is to ensure a seamless ownership experience while strengthening the foundations that support the brand in Malaysia for the long term.”
Dato’ Douglas Cheng Heng Lee, executive director of Atlantis Automobili Sdn. Bhd.
Atlantis Automobili is part of Atlantis Motor Group, a regional automotive group operating across the automotive value chain. The company said existing Maserati owners in Malaysia would continue to receive aftersales support and customer care during the transition, with dedicated communication channels to be established for enquiries and updates.
“Our priority is to ensure a continued trust and confidence of every Maserati owner in Malaysia,” Cheng added. “We understand that ownership extends far beyond the vehicle itself. It is about the relationship, the service, and the confidence that support will always be there when needed. We are committed to ensuring that every customer experiences the level of care, attention and professionalism expected from a brand of Maserati’s stature.”
“Malaysia is an important market within Maserati’s Asia Pacific network, and the appointment of Atlantis Automobili marks a significant step in reinforcing our long-term commitment to customers in the country.”
Julie Taieb-Doutriaux, head of Maserati Asia Pacific
“As we continue to strengthen Maserati’s presence across the region, we are focused not only on growing the brand, but also on delivering an ownership experience that reflects the craftsmanship, innovation and Italian luxury that have defined Maserati for more than a century. With Atlantis Automobili’s proven automotive expertise and customer-centric approach, we are confident they will further elevate the Maserati experience for both existing and future owners in Malaysia,” she said.
Atlantis Automobili said it was preparing investments intended to expand Maserati’s presence in the Malaysian market, without disclosing financial details. Further information on new facilities and customer initiatives would be announced later, the company said. It added that it intended to bring Maserati’s future model range to Malaysian customers as part of the arrangement.
The company said customers and enthusiasts could expect further communication in the coming months regarding ownership experience, aftersales service and engagement with the Maserati community in Malaysia.
Maserati’s current model range includes the Grecale SUV, the GranTurismo grand tourer and the GranCabrio convertible. The range is offered with four-cylinder hybrid powertrains, available on the Grecale, and V6 petrol engines with rear-wheel or four-wheel drive. The GranTurismo is available with a V6 petrol engine or as a fully electric model, the GranTurismo Folgore — the first vehicle in the brand’s history to use that powertrain. The electric range also includes the Grecale Folgore and GranCabrio Folgore.
At the top of the range is the MC family, comprising the MCPURA coupe and the MCPURA Cielo convertible, both powered by a V6 engine that Maserati says incorporates technology derived from Formula One. The lineup also includes the Maserati GT2 Stradale, a road-legal version of the GT2 racing car, and the Maserati MCXtrema, a limited run of 62 track-only units.
Atlantis Automobili is also the official importer and distributor of Alfa Romeo in Malaysia.
For existing Maserati owners in Malaysia, the appointment offers a measure of reassurance. Atlantis Automobili has committed to maintaining aftersales support and customer care without interruption through the transition, and to opening dedicated communication channels for enquiries and updates. Because Atlantis Automobili is part of a wider regional automotive group with experience running multiple dealership and service networks, owners may benefit from the operational resources and infrastructure that a larger group can bring to areas such as parts logistics, technician training and customer service standards, on top of the continuity the company has pledged. The appointment also gives owners a single, clearly identified point of contact for the brand in Malaysia going forward, which may simplify matters such as scheduling servicing, sourcing parts and resolving warranty queries compared with a period of uncertainty around distribution.
