Chery Malaysia recently previewed the TIGGO 9 to members of the media and selected guests on 22 May 2026. The TIGGO 9 is the largest and most feature-laden model in its TIGGO SUV lineup to date, with bookings now open ahead of a formal launch. The seven-seater is estimated to be priced below RM189,000, though the figure remains subject to confirmation at official launch.
Positioned as the flagship of the TIGGO family, the TIGGO 9 is powered by a 2.0-litre TGDi turbocharged petrol engine paired with an Intelligent All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system and seven selectable driving modes. The AWD configuration and breadth of driving mode options are designed to deliver adaptability across a range of conditions — from urban commuting and highway cruising to longer intercity journeys — and represent a specification level less commonly found at this price tier in the Malaysian market.
The cabin is configured with comfort across all three rows as a clear priority. The driver’s seat is ten-way power-adjustable with a massage function, while front passengers are similarly equipped. Second-row occupants receive ventilated seats — a feature more typically associated with vehicles in higher price brackets. Full-length cabin coverage and the SUV’s proportions as the largest model in the TIGGO range are intended to reinforce its credentials as a genuine family vehicle for both daily use and longer-distance travel.
A Head-Up Display is fitted as standard, keeping critical driving information within the driver’s line of sight without requiring attention to be diverted to the instrument cluster. The infotainment system centres on a 15.6-inch 2.5K ultra-high-definition display powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chipset — the same processing platform found in a number of flagship smartphones — delivering a responsive and fluid interface for navigation, media and vehicle settings management.

The TIGGO 9 is equipped with Chery’s ADAS 2.5 suite, comprising 23 driver assistance functions spanning collision prevention, lane management, cruise assistance, parking support and driver monitoring. The breadth of the suite is notable: at this price point, a 23-function ADAS package covering both active safety intervention and passive monitoring places the TIGGO 9 among the more comprehensively equipped vehicles in its class.
Auto Park Assist — which enables the vehicle to execute parking manoeuvres autonomously — is included as a first for the TIGGO series, a meaningful addition for a vehicle targeting urban family use where parking in tight or multi-storey environments is a regular consideration. Other key functions within the suite include Autonomous Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind-spot Detection, Lane Departure Prevention, Traffic Jam Assistant, Rear Cross Traffic Braking, Intelligent Avoidance System and a Driver Monitoring System that tracks driver attentiveness in real time.
Externally, the TIGGO 9 carries the modern design language Chery has applied progressively across the TIGGO range, with 20-inch alloy wheels reinforcing the flagship model’s visual presence. Two exterior colours are available at launch — Carbon Black and Matte Grey — a deliberately restrained palette consistent with the vehicle’s premium family positioning.
Standard ownership coverage includes a seven-year or 150,000 km vehicle warranty and a separate seven-year or 150,000 km engine warranty — terms that reflect both the competitive warranty landscape among Chinese automotive brands in Malaysia and a broader effort to provide long-term ownership confidence. Early booking customers will be eligible for additional exclusive launch package benefits. Bookings are open at www.chery.my.
For Malaysian family car buyers, the TIGGO 9’s sub-RM189,000 estimated pricing places it in a segment that has historically been well-contested but rarely offered AWD as a standard specification at this price level. Intelligent AWD with seven driving modes is a combination more commonly found on vehicles priced considerably higher — giving the TIGGO 9 a capability argument that extends beyond the typical family SUV conversation at this price range. For buyers navigating a mix of urban, highway and varied-terrain driving, or those seeking AWD traction confidence without stepping into the RM200,000-plus bracket, the specification-to-price proposition warrants serious consideration once confirmed pricing is released.
The seven-year warranty on both vehicle and engine also carries weight in the current market context. As Chinese automotive brands continue building long-term ownership confidence among Malaysian buyers, warranty depth has become a genuine point of differentiation rather than a peripheral detail. At seven years and 150,000 km across both vehicle and engine, the TIGGO 9’s coverage is among the stronger offerings in its class. A 23-function ADAS suite that includes Driver Monitoring and Auto Park Assist — features still absent from several competitors at this price — further reinforces a practical case that extends well beyond cabin space and seating configuration. Prospective buyers should note that the quoted price remains an estimate pending official launch confirmation, and final specifications may be subject to revision.
