THE ST. REGIS KUALA LUMPUR 9TH ANNIVERSARY

The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur is celebrating nine years of luxury hospitality since opening its doors in 2016. The prestigious hotel has marked this milestone by highlighting what it calls “Nine Discoveries and Distinctions” that establish its position as a premier destination in Malaysia’s capital city.

Located in the heart of KL Sentral, the hotel has built its reputation on what management describes as “uncompromising elegance” and bespoke service experiences. The anniversary celebration showcases the property’s most distinctive features, from its impressive art collection to its award-winning amenities.

Among the hotel’s most notable features is a specially commissioned Horse sculpture by renowned artist Fernando Botero. Weighing 2.5 tonnes, this monumental piece represents the first and largest sculpture the artist has ever created in Malaysia, unveiled in 2010. The artwork pays homage to the St. Regis brand’s historic connection to polo and embodies what the hotel characterises as “the spirit of aristocracy and movement.”

The property also houses two globally celebrated commissioned artworks – Mark Evans’ “Grace Thunders” and Barnaby Hosking’s “Birds & Butterflies” – both completed on-site with final touches applied by the artists in person. Additionally, the hotel features a curated collection of 82 original photographs selected to reflect the brand’s New York City origins, spanning from Fifth Avenue to the New York Stock Exchange.

The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur distinguishes itself with the largest standard rooms in the city at 63 square meters. Each room features walk-in wardrobes, bathtubs, and the signature St. Regis trunk-style minibar. All accommodations include the brand’s signature 24-hour butler service across all room categories.

The hotel’s wellness offerings include 60 treatment rooms – the most of any hotel in Malaysia – comprising 52 in-suite treatment spaces and the refined Iridium Spa facility. This extensive spa operation represents one of the property’s key differentiators in the luxury market.

The hotel’s prime location offers convenient access to Kuala Lumpur’s transportation network, with proximity to KL Sentral and MRT connections. Management provides complimentary shuttle service to Bukit Bintang and Kuala Lumpur City Centre, enhancing accessibility for guests.

The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur has maintained a partnership with the Royal Selangor Polo Club, bringing traditional St. Regis experiences including Afternoon Tea and the signature Bloody Mary ritual to polo events. The hotel has indicated plans for a new collaborative event in 2025.

Recent accolades include recognition from Tatler Best as Best City Hotel and Hotel of the Year in the first quarter of 2025, along with the DestinAsian Readers’ Award for Best City Hotel. The property’s Brasserie restaurant received Michelin Guide recognition, while TripAdvisor named its Afternoon Tea the finest in the city.

To commemorate the ninth anniversary, the hotel has launched the “Exquisite Celebration” room package, debuting 1 May 2025. The package targets special occasions, including birthdays, anniversaries, and private gatherings, featuring themed décor and customised amenities.

Anniversary events include a Champagne Sabering Ritual at Crystal on Level 6, scheduled for 1 May 2025, beginning at 7:00 PM. The hotel is also offering a limited-time promotion featuring free-flow beer and wine paired with signature bites for MYR99 net per person, available exclusively on 1 May from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

Additional anniversary activities include “The Drawing Room Giveaway Contest,” where guests can dine and create art pieces with The Astor’s Garden Afternoon Tea experience. Contest submissions are accepted until 9 May 2025, at 6:00 PM. The hotel is also hosting a social media promotion at Astor Bar on Level 2, where guests can photograph with “Brigitte Bardot” and share the image to claim a complimentary beverage on 1 May 2025.
