Zeekr Malaysia Launches Refreshed 2026 Zeekr X Electric SUV

Zeekr Intelligent Technology Malaysia officially launched the 2026 Zeekr X in Malaysia on 23 June 2026. The 2026 Zeekr X is an updated version of its electric urban SUV, with pricing starting at MYR158,800 for the Premium rear-wheel-drive model and MYR175,800 for the Flagship all-wheel-drive variant.

Zeekr is an electric vehicle brand under China’s Geely Holding Group. The company operates research and development centers in Ningbo, Hangzhou, Gothenburg, Sweden, and Shanghai, where engineering teams work on vehicle architecture, powertrains, chassis systems and driver-assistance technology. A global design team, based in Gothenburg and Shanghai, handles exterior and interior design, colour and materials, human-machine interface design, and digital and physical modelling.

Zeekr entered the Malaysian market in December 2024 and later established a national sales company, Zeekr Intelligent Technology (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, which manages wholesale operations, dealer network growth, marketing and aftersales support through its dealer network. The local operation is backed by Sentinel Auto, Preeminent Auto, Sunway Group and Carro.

The launch took place at an event organised around themes of movement, wellness and daily routines, where the company presented the vehicle alongside fitness and fashion partners. Zeekr said the setting was intended to position the X as a vehicle suited to a range of daily activities rather than solely for commuting.

“The 2026 Zeekr X reflects how mobility is becoming more closely connected to lifestyle, wellbeing and everyday convenience. With enhanced performance, more thoughtful cabin features and a stronger design identity, the refreshed Zeekr X is designed for customers who want an electric vehicle that fits seamlessly into their lives – whether they are hitting the city streets, getting active at the gym, or making the most of everyday living with comfort and confidence.”

Both variants of the updated Zeekr X come standard with automatic front doors, an interactive B-pillar display, a built-in refrigerated compartment and a multifunction steering wheel with touch controls. The compartment can chill beverages or warm items to as high as 50 degrees Celsius, according to the company.

Cargo capacity has increased to 404 liters, up from the previous model. Zeekr said the additional space was designed to accommodate sports equipment and luggage alongside daily items.

The vehicle supports direct-current fast charging at up to 150 kilowatts, which the company said allows the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 30 minutes.

The Premium RWD variant produces 250 kilowatts of power and 373 newton-meters of torque, with 11-kilowatt onboard AC charging and a range of up to 445 kilometers under the World Harmonized Light Vehicle Test Procedure, or WLTP, a European testing standard. It includes a black-and-white interior, 19-inch wheels and a head-up display as standard equipment. The variant also introduces a new exterior color, Porcelain Pink.

The Flagship AWD variant produces 365 kilowatts and 573 newton-meters of torque, with Zeekr stating the vehicle accelerates from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in 3.7 seconds. It includes 22-kilowatt onboard AC charging, a WLTP-rated range of up to 415 kilometers, ventilated and massage front seats, a black interior with red seatbelts and 20-inch forged wheels. Two additional exterior colours, Onyx Black and Matte Khaki Green, are available exclusively on this variant.

Both variants retain a seven-airbag system and a driver-assistance suite that uses five high-definition cameras, five millimeter-wave radar units and twelve ultrasonic sensors. The assistance features include front and rear automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, automatic lane change, lane centering, lane keeping assist, blind spot detection, front and rear cross-traffic alert, automated parking assistance, evasive manoeuvre assistance and driver monitoring.

Additional standard equipment includes LED headlights with a programmable light display, a powered tailgate, a panoramic sunroof with heat-reduction coating, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a 50-watt wireless phone charger, a 13-speaker sound system from Yamaha, and ambient interior lighting across 17 zones that can be synchronised to music.

The Zeekr X is also available in two carryover colours, Crystal White and Grid Grey, in addition to the three new finishes introduced for the 2026 model.

The listed prices include a five-year or 150,000-kilometer vehicle warranty, an eight-year or 160,000-kilometer warranty on the high-voltage battery and related components, and one year of complimentary connected services that include 6 gigabytes of data per month.

Zeekr Malaysia is also offering a financing program through partnerships with Public Bank and Maybank. Under the program, buyers may pay their downpayment using a credit card on an interest-free installment plan of up to 48 months, combined with a hire-purchase loan carrying an interest rate starting at 1.18%. Customers who do not use the financing program may instead receive a 22-kilowatt wall-mounted charger and a portable charging cable at no additional cost. Test drives of the 2026 Zeekr X are available at Zeekr showrooms across Malaysia.

The revised 2026 Zeekr X arrives in a Malaysian electric vehicle market that has grown increasingly competitive, with multiple brands now offering vehicles in the premium urban SUV segment. For consumers weighing an EV purchase, the changes to the X are concentrated in areas that affect day-to-day ownership rather than headline specifications alone: cargo space, charging speed, cabin convenience features and financing structure.

The financing arrangement with Public Bank and Maybank is one of the more consumer-facing elements of the announcement. By allowing buyers to spread a downpayment across an interest-free 48-month credit card instalment plan and pairing it with a hire-purchase loan starting at 1.18% interest, Zeekr is addressing a common barrier to EV adoption — the upfront cost relative to comparable internal-combustion vehicles. Whether this structure is more favourable than a conventional auto loan will depend on an individual buyer’s credit terms and total cost of borrowing, and prospective buyers may want to compare the combined cost of both components against standard hire-purchase financing before deciding.

The warranty terms — five years or 150,000 kilometers on the vehicle and eight years or 160,000 kilometers on the battery and high-voltage components — are roughly in line with industry norms for electric vehicles sold in Malaysia, where battery longevity remains a key consideration for buyers unfamiliar with EV ownership. The option to receive a home wallbox charger and portable charging cable in place of the financing program also addresses a practical cost that buyers sometimes overlook when budgeting for an EV purchase.

On the technical side, the increase in DC fast-charging capacity to 150 kilowatts and the expanded driver-assistance suite reflect broader trends across the EV market, where charging speed and safety technology have become differentiators between competing models. For buyers cross-shopping electric SUVs in this price range, the specific combination of range, charging speed, interior space and price will likely matter more than any single feature in isolation. As with any vehicle purchase, consumers are advised to verify current pricing, financing terms and availability directly with authorised dealers, since promotional financing programs and pricing structures are subject to change.
