Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has expanded its locally assembled SUV portfolio with the introduction of the GLC 200 4MATIC, now positioned as the entry-level offering in the brand’s popular midsize SUV range. The new variant is priced at RM329,888, on-the-road without insurance, and joins the existing GLC 350e plug-in hybrid in the lineup.
The launch took place at the recently re-opened Stars@Mercedes-Benz Bangsar showroom, operated by NZ Wheels, where the GLC 200 4MATIC was unveiled alongside the new GLE 400e 4MATIC plug-in hybrid. Both models are locally assembled at the Mercedes-Benz facility in Pekan, Pahang, underscoring the brand’s commitment to its Malaysian manufacturing operations.
“Since its introduction, the Mercedes-Benz GLC has become one of the most significant models in our portfolio, chosen by over 2.6 million customers worldwide. The launch of the new Mercedes-Benz GLC 200 4MATIC continues this success story in Malaysia, combining refined comfort, advanced safety, and confident all-terrain capabilities. This model reinforces the GLC’s leadership in the luxury SUV segment while offering a vehicle that meets the needs of both daily life and adventurous lifestyles.”
Amanda Zhang, CEO & President, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia
“The new Mercedes-Benz GLC 200 4MATIC marks the return of a variant that has been long missed in our line-up and consistently requested by customers. It complements the current GLC range with a configuration carefully tailored to the Malaysian market. Most importantly, it opens the door for even more customers to experience the world of Mercedes-Benz.”

Under the bonnet, the GLC 200 4MATIC features a 2.0-litre turbocharged inline-four petrol engine from the manufacturer’s FAME modular engine family. The mill produces 204 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque, augmented by a 48-volt mild-hybrid system with an integrated starter generator that contributes an additional 17 kW and 205 Nm.
Power is transmitted to all four wheels through Mercedes-Benz’s 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system, paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. The setup enables the GLC 200 4MATIC to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 7.8 seconds, with a top speed of 221 km/h. The mild-hybrid system also assists with acceleration and enables smoother start-stop operation for improved efficiency.
Despite its position as the base model in the range, the GLC 200 4MATIC arrives well-equipped with the AMG Line package as standard. Exterior highlights include the signature Mercedes-Benz pattern radiator grille, AMG front and rear aprons with a diffuser-look design, and polished aluminium roof rails. The vehicle rides on five-spoke 20-inch AMG light alloy wheels, with tyres measuring 255/45R20 at the front and 285/40R20 at the rear.
Lighting duties are handled by LED High Performance headlamps with optional adaptive high beam assist, while the rear features three-dimensional LED taillamps. Aluminium-look running boards with rubber studs, simulated chrome underguard elements, and chrome-look tailpipes complete the exterior package.
The chassis benefits from AGILITY CONTROL suspension with a selective damping system, continuously adjusting to balance body control with everyday comfort.
Inside, the GLC 200 4MATIC receives the AMG Line interior package, featuring Artico synthetic leather upholstery in a Nappa leather look, AMG sports pedals, and a multi-function steering wheel wrapped in Nappa leather. Interior trim comprises anthracite lime-structure wood accents, while the centre console features a metal structure finish.
The cabin is equipped with Mercedes-Benz’s MBUX multimedia system, anchored by a 12.3-inch driver’s instrument display and an 11.9-inch central touchscreen with fingerprint sensor capability. The system includes MBUX Navigation Premium and MBUX Augmented Reality Navigation for enhanced route guidance.
Additional convenience features include 64-colour ambient lighting, Thermatic climate control, roller sunblinds in the rear doors, and heat- and noise-insulating glass. The Comfort Plus package brings Keyless Go, hands-free access, and the Easy-Pack tailgate, while the boot comfort package includes electrically folding rear seat backrests and a 12-volt electrical outlet.
With the absence of a plug-in hybrid battery pack, the GLC 200 4MATIC offers 620 litres of luggage compartment space, a notable increase over the 490 litres available in the GLC 350e variant.
The GLC 200 4MATIC comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Safety features include a 360-degree camera with transparent bonnet view functionality, providing enhanced visibility during manoeuvring.
The introduction of the GLC 200 4MATIC addresses market demand for a more attainable entry point to the second-generation X254 GLC range, while still delivering the premium credentials and comprehensive specification that buyers in this segment expect.
