Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur at KL Midtown inaugurated its first festive season on 27 November 2025, with a tree-lighting ceremony held on Thanksgiving Day. The newly opened hotel unveiled holiday installations that will remain on display throughout the season.

A 20-foot Christmas tree decorated with ornaments serves as the centerpiece of the lobby display. The hotel has also installed a Christmas market featuring three gingerbread houses, including one constructed with authentic gingerbread materials.

The launch event opened with a performance by the 10-piece Selangor Philharmonic Orchestra. Four ballerinas from Clavier Ballet performed a dance routine that concluded with General Manager Till Martin receiving a ceremonial wand to illuminate the tree. The tree-lighting ceremony concluded with a performance by Ruth Education students.

“This ceremony marks the start of the festive season and establishes a new tradition of joy, care and community within our hotel. In a nation celebrated for its diversity and harmony, we hold this celebration with deep respect for local traditions. It is more than a festive occasion—it is a reflection of the Hyatt purpose: to care for people so they can be their very best.”

The hotel has established a partnership with Kiwanis, an organisation serving underprivileged children. A booth has been set up in the hotel where guests can purchase TY toys donated by the property, with all proceeds benefiting Kiwanis programs.

“The hotel’s festive celebrations are elevated through its partnership with Kiwanis, an organisation dedicated to serving less privileged children,” Martin said. “All proceeds will directly benefit Kiwanis’s charitable programs. This is part of the Hyatt’s community care program.”

The collaboration includes the “Symphony of Christmas Joy & Giving Charity Concert 2025,” scheduled for Sunday, 14 December 2025, at 3:00 PM in the Regency Ballroom on Level 2. The concert will feature the full 88-musician Selangor Philharmonic Orchestra performing Christmas classics.

A special choral performance organised by Ruth Education will feature children from the local Myanmar community who are raising funds for their tertiary education. Tickets are priced at RM100, with all proceeds supporting Kiwanis charitable initiatives.

Martin announced that the hotel will host a 10-minute fireworks display on 31 December 2025, marking the first such celebration at KL Midtown, “We invite everyone to join us in creating unforgettable memories this festive season. We are committed to making this a celebration to remember.”
