Bombardier Global 8000 Achieves Transport Canada Certification and Sets New Cabin Altitude Benchmark

Bombardier has reached a major milestone with its Global 8000 business jet, securing Transport Canada Type Certification on 5 November 2025, while also establishing an industry-leading cabin altitude record. This dual achievement positions the aircraft as the world’s fastest business jet at Mach 0.95 and the longest-range four-zone model at 8,000 nautical miles, with entry into service slated for 2025. Federal Aviation Administration and European Aviation Safety Agency certifications are expected to follow, aligning with customer delivery timelines.

The Transport Canada Type Certification confirms the Global 8000’s readiness as the fastest civilian aircraft since the Concorde, maintaining its top speed of Mach 0.95 and class-leading range of 8,000 nautical miles. This approval paves the way for the jet’s entry into service this year, highlighting Bombardier’s rigorous collaboration with regulators.

“Bombardier has worked rigorously and collaboratively with Transport Canada toward certification for the Global 8000. This marks a pivotal milestone for Bombardier, our customers and the entire business aviation industry – solidifying the Global 8000’s position as the unrivaled leader setting a new standard. This milestone is a powerful testament to the exceptional talent and dedication of our engineering, test and production teams. It showcases their deep expertise and unwavering commitment – qualities that are embedded in Bombardier’s DNA and are the heartbeat that drives everything we do for our valued clients.”

This certification underscores the aircraft’s compliance with stringent safety and performance standards, enabling operators to access more city pairs nonstop than any rival four-zone jet. The program’s on-track timeline reflects Bombardier’s engineering prowess, building on prior achievements like the confirmed Mach 0.95 speed.

Complementing its performance credentials, the Global 8000 now holds the lowest cabin altitude in business aviation at 2,691 feet when cruising at 41,000 feet, creating a sensation akin to standing atop the Burj Khalifa. This innovation minimises physiological stress from high-altitude flight, allowing passengers to arrive refreshed and productive. The feature integrates seamlessly with Bombardier’s Pũr Air system, which includes HEPA filtration and VOC removal, alongside the Soleil circadian lighting system to combat jet lag and enhance wellbeing.

“The ultimate comfort in the sky is feeling like you’re at home. We have focused heavily on elevating the passenger experience, imperative priorities for ultra-long-range travel. With this industry benchmark for reduced cabin altitude, along with numerous other design features, we help passengers have the most comfortable inflight experiences in the industry. The Global 8000 is truly the pinnacle of aviation engineering today. Offering the best combination of performance and comfort in the industry, we help our passengers have the most comfortable inflight experience.”

With the lowest cabin altitude in business aviation at 2,691 ft., customers will feel like they are standing atop the Burj Khalifa as they cruise at 41,000 feet. This significantly reduced cabin altitude minimises the physiological stress typically associated with high-altitude travel, helping passengers arrive feeling refreshed, alert, and ready to perform.

Beyond comfort, the Global 8000 excels in range and agility, offering 8,000 nautical miles of nonstop capability—the only four-zone jet to achieve this—while matching light-jet takeoff and landing performance. Its advanced wing design with unique leading-edge slats allows access to 30% more airports than competitors. These attributes make it ideal for global operators seeking speed, distance, and versatility in a luxurious package.

Inside, the aircraft features four true living spaces, a separate crew rest area, and the longest seated length in its class, prioritising luxury and productivity. The signature smooth ride further elevates the experience for discerning owners, businesses, governments, and militaries.
