The Hyatt Regency brand made its debut in Malaysia’s capital with the opening of Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur at KL Midtown on 26 August 2025. The five-star property became the seventh Hyatt hotel in the city, bringing the Hyatt Regency brand to Kuala Lumpur for the first time.
Located at 7 Jalan Dutamas 2, the hotel occupies a strategic position directly opposite the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) and near the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), positioning it as a key player in the city’s convention and business tourism sector.
“We are absolutely delighted to announce that Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur at KL Midtown is on track to open on 26th August. Preparations are progressing smoothly and we look forward to warmly welcoming our guests and engaging with the local community. As a vibrant destination where business meets leisure, Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur at KL Midtown is poised to redefine the hospitality experience in Kuala Lumpur—elevating KL Midtown as Malaysia’s premier convention and lifestyle hub.”

The hotel was designed by celebrated Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, known for his work on the Japan National Stadium in Tokyo and the V&A Dundee in Scotland. Kuma’s design philosophy, which emphasises harmony with the environment and incorporates natural materials such as wood, stone, and paper, has been brought to life in the Kuala Lumpur property.

The property offers 410 accommodations in total, comprising 306 hotel rooms and suites alongside 104 fully serviced residences. The hotel’s standard rooms are among the most spacious in the city, starting from 42 square metres. Guests can choose from 15 room types and 22 suites, including King Rooms, Twin Rooms, Deluxe Rooms, Regency Club Rooms, Regency Suites, Diplomatic Suites, and a Presidential Suite.
The fully serviced residences feature a separate entrance, dedicated drop-off area, and private driveway. Available in one- or two-bedroom configurations, each apartment includes a kitchenette with a full-size refrigerator and separate dining and living areas, catering to families, business travellers, and those requiring extended stays.
The hotel will feature five distinct dining venues. Midtown Brasseries offers all-day dining with an Asian Taste Buffet, while Midtown Lounge provides a casual setting for afternoon refreshments. Enso Izakaya & Bar specialises in fresh sashimi, yakitori, and an extensive sake selection. China House focuses on northern Chinese cuisine, with wood-fired Peking Duck as a signature offering. The Breeze Poolside Bar serves light fare and beverages.
For events and meetings, the hotel is equipped with 16 versatile function rooms, including a pillarless ballroom and state-of-the-art facilities suitable for conferences, meetings, gala dinners, and weddings.

Hotel guests have access to an infinity pool and Breeze Pool Bar on the fifth floor, set amid tropical greenery. Serviced residence guests enjoy a private infinity pool on the 32nd floor with views of the Kuala Lumpur skyline. Both pools use eco-friendly chlorinated saltwater and are supervised daily by certified lifeguards.
The 32nd floor also houses a residents’ lounge and a Kidz Club staffed by two dedicated minders, offering supervised activities for children. The Core Fitness Centre on the fifth floor provides state-of-the-art equipment for both hotel and residence guests, with personal trainers available upon request.
Travellers with electric vehicles (EVs) will be pleased to know that the hotel has multiple EV charging bays in its car park.
