Crafted by Culinary Masters Buffet Dinner at Makan Kitchen at DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur
Beginning 1 October and running through 22 November 2025, Makan Kitchen at the DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur invites diners to experience an evocative culinary journey through Malaysiaโs rich food heritage. The initiative, titled “๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ณ๐๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐ฏ๐ ๐๐๐น๐ถ๐ป๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ ๐ ๐ฎ๐๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐” features nine renowned chefs presenting nine signature dishes over nine weeks, each highlighting distinctive flavours and stories from across the country.
The Fridays and Saturdays Seafood Special runs from 6:30pm to 10:00pm on Fridays and Saturdays is priced at RM189 nett per adult and RM95 nett per child, offering carefully crafted menus that connect patrons with traditional and contemporary Malaysian tastes.
Each week features a different chef and a unique dish showcasing a regional specialty or culinary technique. The series opened with Chef Fatinโs Kelantanese Ulam Poke Bowl, a fresh and healthy creation combining fresh greens, fragrant quinoa, and a house-made Budu Bergamot vinaigrette that adds a mildly spicy tang. Following that, Chef Gerald Chong reinterpreted Jalan Pudusโs famed roasted chicken into a refined dish with chicken jerky stuffing and preserved mandarin orange jus.
Upcoming highlights include Chef Zulโs Pansoh Udang, a smoky, aromatic prawn dish cooked in bamboo with lemongrass and wild gingerโa nod to traditional Iban bamboo cooking. From October 21 to 25, the program features a “Great Diwali Cook-Off,” with Executive Sous Chef Raj and Junior Sous Chef Sugu presenting vibrant Indian festive delights in a buffet format.
Later offerings include Executive Chef Eddieโs Salt-Crusted Kombu Baked Sustainable Salmon, Chef Chuaโs modern Pulut Hitam Cake blending nostalgic black rice dessert with coconut chantilly, and Chef Limโs wok-fried butter tiger prawns elevated with egg floss and shaved cured salted egg. The final week, from November 17 to 22, highlights Chef Amirโs sustainable red snapper paupiette finished with a miso gula Melaka glaze and a gingery scallion crust, marrying East Asian umami and local ingredients.
In addition to the culinary experience, guests can enjoy family-friendly activities such as a Kids Corner, racing simulator, arcade games, and Nintendo Switch entertainment. Complimentary access to the saltwater pool is also available.
DoubleTree by Hilton emphasises responsible sourcing with sustainable ingredients featured across various menus, reflecting growing interest in ethical dining. The event also offers Hilton Honors discounts for members.
