Xiaomi 15T Series Launches in Malaysia with Advanced Camera System and Connectivity Features

Xiaomi has officially launched its Xiaomi 15T series in Malaysia, introducing the Xiaomi 15T and Xiaomi 15T Pro with enhanced photography capabilities, advanced connectivity features, and refined design elements aimed at modern users seeking flagship-level performance.

The Xiaomi 15T series features a triple camera system developed in collaboration with Leica. The Xiaomi 15T Pro offers focal lengths ranging from 15mm to 230mm, while the standard Xiaomi 15T provides a range from 15mm to 92mm across its three rear cameras.

Both models incorporate a 50MP main camera with a Leica Summilux optical lens. The base model features an ƒ/1.7 aperture, while the Pro variant upgrades to ƒ/1.62. The Xiaomi 15T Pro further distinguishes itself with a Light Fusion 900 image sensor, which boasts a 13.5 EV high dynamic range for improved clarity and tonal accuracy in challenging lighting conditions.

The Pro model debuts the Leica 5x Pro telephoto camera in the Xiaomi T Series, offering 5x optical zoom, 10x optical-level zoom, and up to 20x Ultra Zoom capability. Both devices include a 32MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls.

The series integrates Xiaomi AISP 2.0, a computational photography platform that includes PortraitLM 2.0 and ColorLM 2.0 to enhance depth perception, tonal range, and colour accuracy. The Master Portrait feature introduces new bokeh effects and allows individual adjustment of aperture effects and focal length. A Leica street photography mode enables quick capture from the lock screen with access to focal lengths of 28mm, 35mm, 50mm, 75mm, and 135mm (exclusive to the Pro model).

For video recording, both models support 4K 30fps HDR10+ across all focal lengths. The Xiaomi 15T Pro extends capabilities to 4K 120fps on the main camera and offers 4K 60fps 10-bit Log recording with LUT input for professional-grade post-production work.

The series introduces Xiaomi Astral Communication, featuring the global debut of Xiaomi Offline Communication. This technology enables direct voice communication between devices over distances up to 1.9km for the Xiaomi 15T Pro and 1.3km for the Xiaomi 15T without cellular or Wi-Fi signals, designed for use in remote environments such as hiking trails, deserts, or jungles.

The communication suite includes the Xiaomi Surge T1S Tuner, which utilises GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and cellular signals, working alongside a Super Antenna Array with AI Smart Antenna Switching to maintain stable connectivity across various conditions.

The Xiaomi 15T series will receive Xiaomi HyperOS 3, making its global debut with this launch. The operating system introduces enhanced multitasking capabilities, faster app launches, and redesigned interface elements including lock screens, wallpapers, icons, and widgets. System-level intelligence from Xiaomi HyperAI aims to improve productivity through seamless content sharing and device synchronisation.

Both models feature a 6.83-inch display with 1.5K resolution and peak brightness reaching 3200 nits for visibility in bright environments. The Xiaomi 15T Pro incorporates ultra-narrow 1.5mm bezels on all sides using LIPO technology, representing a 27% reduction from the previous generation. The Pro model supports refresh rates up to 144Hz with full-brightness DC dimming and eye care technology, while the standard model offers up to 120Hz refresh rate with 3840Hz PWM dimming to reduce screen flicker.

Both devices house a 5500mAh battery designed for longevity, retaining up to 80% capacity after 1600 charging cycles. The Xiaomi 15T Pro supports 90W wired HyperCharge and 50W wireless HyperCharge, while the Xiaomi 15T features 67W HyperCharge. The battery can power on in under four seconds when flat after a charger is connected.

The Xiaomi 15T Pro runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ chipset built on a 3nm process, while the Xiaomi 15T utilises the MediaTek Dimensity 8400-Ultra processor. Both chips deliver improved CPU and GPU performance compared to their respective predecessors.

Thermal management is handled by the Xiaomi 3D IceLoop System, which efficiently separates vapour and liquid with a specially designed 3D bulge for the CPU, directing heat away from core components and distributing it evenly across the device surface.

The series features a unified glass fibre back and battery cover with a flat frame and slightly rounded edges. The Corning Gorilla Glass 7i display provides 100% improved scratch resistance compared to the previous generation. Both models carry IP68 water and dust resistance certification, capable of withstanding depths up to 3 meters of freshwater.

The Xiaomi 15T Pro frame is constructed from high-strength 6M13 aluminium alloy for enhanced drop protection. Colour options for the Pro include Black, Gray, and Mocha Gold, while the standard model offers Black, Gray, and Rose Gold.

Pre-orders for the Xiaomi 15T series are available until 2 October 2025, through mi.com, Shopee, and Lazada. From 3 October 2025, both models will be available at all Xiaomi stores nationwide and through official online channels.
