Vivo Malaysia has unveiled its latest smartphone, the V60, featuring advanced camera technology developed in collaboration with ZEISS. The new mid-range smartphone, launched on 26 August 2025, introduces a 50 MP ZEISS Super Telephoto Camera with 10x telephoto zoom capabilities to the Malaysian market.
The V60 represents a significant upgrade to vivo’s V series lineup, targeting users seeking professional-level photography features in a smartphone format. Priced starting at RM1,999 for the 12GB + 256GB variant, the device positions itself as a premium offering in the competitive smartphone market.
“Built with the idea of bringing professional-level portrait photography to smartphones, vivo V60 helps users easily capture beautiful moments. With a 50 MP ZEISS Super Telephoto Camera that captures clearer portrait close-ups from a distance, this is a device you’d want to bring to your next special occasion. From its effortless photography to its drop-resistant design and long-lasting battery, vivo V60 is a reliable companion that can keep pace with you and your most demanding tasks.”
Mike Xu, CEO of vivo Malaysia

The V60’s camera system centres around its ZEISS-engineered telephoto capabilities. The 50 MP Super Telephoto Camera utilises a Sony IMX882 sensor with an f/2.65 aperture and employs a periscope design that maintains device thickness while delivering optical zoom performance.
The 10x ZEISS Telephoto Zoom Portrait feature targets specific use cases such as concert photography and stage performances, allowing users to capture detailed shots from considerable distances. The system preserves facial expressions, skin tones, and fabric textures, according to the company.
ZEISS Multifocal Portrait functionality provides five focal length options, with emphasis on 85mm and 100mm settings derived from vivo’s flagship devices. These focal lengths are designed for portrait photography and travel scenarios where users need to isolate subjects from busy backgrounds.
The device also incorporates a 50 MP ZEISS OIS Main Camera with Sony IMX766 sensor for general photography, an 8 MP ZEISS Ultra Wide-Angle Camera for group shots, and a 50 MP front-facing camera for selfies and group photos. Video recording capabilities include 4K resolution on both front and rear cameras.
Beyond hardware improvements, the V60 integrates several AI-powered photography tools. AI Erase 3.0 removes unwanted objects from photos, while AI Reflection Erase addresses glare issues when photographing through glass surfaces. AI Magic Move repositions subjects within frames and fills backgrounds automatically.
Additional features include AI Image Expander for extending photo compositions and AI Photo Enhance for upscaling low-resolution images. The AI Four-Season Portrait feature, scheduled for availability from October 2025, will allow users to add seasonal effects to outdoor photographs.
The V60 incorporates IP68 and IP69 water and dust resistance ratings, withstanding submersion up to 1.5 meters for 120 minutes and high-pressure water spraying at 80°C. The device features Diamond Shield Glass and an internal Comprehensive Cushioning Structure designed to improve drop resistance compared to previous V series models.
Performance specifications include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, 12GB RAM with 12GB extended RAM functionality, and storage options of 256GB or 512GB. The device houses a 6500 mAh battery with 90W FlashCharge technology for rapid charging.
The display offers HDR10+ certification with peak brightness levels reaching 5000 nits, designed for visibility in direct sunlight conditions. For mobile gaming, the device supports 90Hz frame rates for games like Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.
The V60’s operating system incorporates Google Gemini integration for task management across applications. AI Smart Call Assistant provides real-time call captions and translation services supporting multiple languages, while AI Intelligent Summary generates meeting highlights automatically.
Connectivity features include AI SuperLink technology, specifically optimised for Malaysia’s subway system along the Kajang Line. This enhancement targets improved network performance in areas with typically weak signals, such as underground stations and elevators.
The vivo V60 is available in three colour variants: Berry Purple, Summer Blue, and Mist Gray. Pricing structure includes RM1,999 for the 12GB + 256GB model and RM2,299 for the 12GB + 512GB variant. An online exclusive 8GB + 256GB model is priced at RM1,899.
The device includes support for four major operating system updates and six years of security updates, addressing long-term software maintenance concerns for users.
