Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has introduced two formidable additions to its high-performance lineup: the all-new Mercedes-AMG GT 63 4MATIC+ Coupé and the new Mercedes-AMG SL 63 S E PERFORMANCE. These latest models, characterised by their blend of motorsport technology and elegant design, represent the brand’s commitment to delivering dynamic driving experiences suited for both track and everyday roads.

The reveal took place at the Sepang International Circuit on June 6, 2025, marking a notable moment for the AMG family with the second generation of the AMG GT Coupé and the reinvigorated SL Roadster making their debut together, signalling a new era of performance and luxury.

Positioned at the summit of the AMG range, the second-generation Mercedes-AMG GT 63 4MATIC+ Coupé takes the concept of a modern sports car to new heights. Powered by a handcrafted AMG 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine delivering 585 hp, this coupé accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds, offering performance that commands respect. The car’s design balances athleticism and sophistication through features like a long wheelbase, short overhangs, a steeply raked windscreen, and muscular wheel arches. Signature elements such as the AMG radiator grille, DIGITAL LIGHT headlights, and an active rear spoiler further emphasise its presence.

Inside, the driver-centric cockpit blends luxury and technology seamlessly. Central to the interior is an 11.9-inch multimedia touchscreen running the intuitive MBUX infotainment system, which offers AMG-specific content and extensive connectivity. The AMG Performance seats provide sporty lateral support, while the AMG performance steering wheel incorporates modern touches such as a hands-on sensor for driver safety. The vehicle is equipped with a nine-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT transmission, allowing for quick, manual shifts.

Aerodynamic efficiency is a hallmark of the GT 63 4MATIC+, featuring an AIRPANEL active air control system that optimises cooling and reduces drag as needed. A patented active aerodynamic element in the underbody enhances handling by lowering the front profile at higher speeds, increasing road grip and stability.

Driving dynamics are further refined by the fully variable AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive, which adjusts torque distribution continuously between front and rear axles for traction and agility under various conditions. The AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL suspension system smooths out body roll by actively adjusting stabilisers up to 1,000 times per second, improving both cornering performance and ride comfort. The legendary SL model is reborn in the AMG SL 63 S E PERFORMANCE, which ushers in AMG’s hybrid technology with impressive performance figures. Combining a 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine with a 150 kW electric motor on the rear axle, it delivers 816 hp and a remarkable 1,420 Nm of system torque. This setup propels the roadster from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 2.9 seconds and allows a top speed of 317 km/h.

With its classic soft-top configuration and optional 2+2 seating, the SL balances exhilarating performance with everyday usability and luxury. Its exterior design accentuates sporty potential through an elongated bonnet, pronounced power domes, and agile proportions, with customizable packages offering various aesthetic enhancements.

The hybrid powertrain utilises advanced AMG E PERFORMANCE technology, inspired by Formula 1 innovations, particularly in its lightweight, high-performance lithium-ion battery. The battery is cooled directly to maintain optimal temperatures, supporting rapid energy delivery and recuperation with up to 13 km of electric-only driving range.

Precision and dynamic control are hallmarks of the SL 63 S E PERFORMANCE. The electrically controlled active aerodynamics include an extendable rear spoiler that adjusts to driving conditions and an underbody aerodynamic element for stability. Rear-axle steering angles adjust based on speed, optimising agility at lower speeds and stability at high speeds.

Braking is managed by an AMG ceramic high-performance composite brake system that ensures short stopping distances and stable performance even under extreme usage. Lightweight carbon ceramic discs reduce unsprung masses, contributing positively to handling and ride quality.

Inside, the SL prioritises driver focus and comfort, featuring AMG Performance seats with ventilation, massage functions, and the ENERGIZING Package Plus for enhanced relaxation. The MBUX multimedia system integrates hybrid-specific displays and AMG performance data for an immersive driving experience.
