SAIC Motor Malaysia Celebrates MG’s 100th Anniversary with the Launch of MG Cyberster at KLIMS 2024

SAIC Motor Malaysia marked a historic milestone in automotive innovation and legacy by celebrating MG’s 100th anniversary with the official launch of the all-new MG Cyberster, Malaysia’s first all-electric roadster. The event, held in conjunction with the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS), showcased MG’s commitment to sustainable mobility and cutting-edge design while offering a glimpse into its exciting lineup of vehicles for the Malaysian market.

The MG Cyberster, priced at RM319,900, is set to revolutionize the electric sports car segment with its remarkable performance and bold design. Powered by a 77 kWh battery, the Cyberster delivers an impressive range of 446 km and supports fast charging from 10% to 80% in just 38 minutes. With a powerful motor generating 503 PS (375 kW) and 725 Nm of torque, the car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds. Its sleek silhouette, retractable scissor doors, and luxurious sports interior equipped with advanced infotainment and Bose audio further solidify its status as a premium electric roadster.

Available in four vibrant colors—Dynamic Red, Camden Grey, Inca Yellow, and English White—the Cyberster allows buyers to personalize their driving experience with unique interior combinations. Dynamic Red and Camden Grey come with black and red interiors, while Inca Yellow and English White feature grey interiors. All models are complemented by a striking black hood for added sophistication.

SAIC Motor Malaysia has introduced an extensive warranty package for the MG Cyberster to ensure peace of mind for buyers:

High-Voltage Battery Pack Warranty: 8 years or 180,000 km

Charging Benefits: One year of unlimited charging via JomCharge with Auto Charge functionality
Complimentary Equipment: A free 7kW Wallbox Charger (installation not included)

Visitors to KLIMS were treated to exclusive promotions on select models. Rebates of RM7,000 and RM5,000 were offered for bookings of the MG5 and MG HS respectively. Buyers of electric vehicles like the MG ZS EV, MG4 EV Lux, and MG4 EV Standard enjoyed up to 20 months of free installments valued at RM26,000, RM16,000, and RM8,500 respectively.
