Bombardier announced on 21 October 2024 that the manufacturing of major structural components for its Global 8000 business jet has commenced at its facilities in Saint-Laurent (Québec), Red Oak (Texas), and Querétaro (Mexico). This significant milestone marks the beginning of production for what will soon be the world’s fastest and longest-range purpose-built business jet, set to enter service in the second half of 2025.
“The manufacturing process for what will be the industry’s fastest business jet, the impressive ultra-long-range Global 8000, has begun. Our engineering and production teams continue to demonstrate unmatched levels of expertise, pride and innovation, qualities that are an intrinsic part of Bombardier’s DNA. Our people’s mastery is behind the progress we are making at our production sites and underscores Bombardier’s culture of excellence, as well as our commitment to elevating the world of aviation.”
David Murray, Executive Vice President, Manufacturing, IT and Bombardier Operational Executive System
“Our customers will soon be able to step aboard an aircraft that sets the standard as the fastest and longest-range purpose-built business aircraft in history, allowing them to reach destinations farther and faster than ever before. Connectivity, comfort and arriving refreshed are just as important today than speed and range, which is why we are proud that the Global 8000 will boast the best-in-class cabin altitude and offer Bombardier’s signature smooth ride.”
Jean-Christophe Gallagher, Executive Vice President, Aircraft Sales and Bombardier Defense
The Global 8000 is poised to redefine the standards of business aviation. With a top speed of Mach 0.94, it will be the fastest civil aircraft since the Concorde. Coupled with an industry-leading range of 8,000 nautical miles, the Global 8000 will connect more city pairs than any other aircraft. Destinations such as Dubai to Houston, Singapore to Los Angeles, and London to Perth will now be within nonstop reach, making it a game-changer in long-haul business travel.

The Global 8000 is designed to deliver an unparalleled in-flight experience. Its spacious cabin features four true living spaces and a separate crew rest area, ensuring maximum comfort for long journeys. Revolutionary features introduced on the Global 7500, such as the Principal Suite with a full-size bed and an en-suite stand-up shower, are carried over to the Global 8000. Passengers will also benefit from advanced entertainment and connectivity systems, including the intuitive nice Touch CMS and OLED touch dial, as well as Bombardier’s l’Opéra directional audio sound system.
Flight testing for the Global 8000 has shown promising results, with the aircraft performing exceptionally well. It is crafted for the smoothest ride and features the healthiest cabin environment in the industry. The jet’s innovative design ensures low cabin altitude, which significantly enhances passenger comfort and well-being during long flights.
In anticipation of its entry into service, Bombardier is offering an upgrade for existing Global 7500 aircraft clients. This upgrade will boost the aircraft’s top speed, extend its range, and ensure exceptionally low cabin altitudes, thereby enhancing the performance of the already impressive Global 7500.
The manufacturing of the Global 8000 involves key components being produced at multiple Bombardier sites. The collaboration between the facilities in Saint-Laurent, Red Oak, and Querétaro highlights Bombardier’s global approach to innovation and production excellence.
As Bombardier moves forward with the Global 8000, the aviation industry is set to witness a new benchmark in business travel. The Global 8000 is not just a leap forward in speed and range but also in luxury and passenger experience, reflecting Bombardier’s relentless pursuit of excellence and innovation.
