SAIC Motor Malaysia has officially launched the all-new MG5, positioning it as the largest and most stylish B-segment sedan in its class. The vehicle, which combines affordability with sporty design and driving excitement, is set to make waves in the Malaysian automotive market.
The MG5 comes with an attractive price tag of RM 93,900 for the 1.5L model featuring an 8-speed iCVT transmission. It boasts a fastback coupe design and a large 2,680mm wheelbase, setting it apart in the B-sedan segment. SAIC Motor Malaysia is offering the MG5 with a comprehensive warranty package, including a 5-year unlimited mileage warranty on the vehicle and a 7-year unlimited mileage warranty on the powertrain. To celebrate MG’s centenary, the company is offering an exclusive introductory rebate of RM7,000 on the MG5, subject to terms and conditions.

The MG5 stands out with its dimensions, measuring 4,675mm in length and 1,842mm in width, making it the longest and widest in its class. Its exterior features include a distinctive fastback silhouette, ducktail spoiler, aggressive 3D front grille, and power sunroof. The sedan comes equipped with automatic LED headlights, DRL, and 17-inch Tomahawk alloy wheels.
Inside, the MG5 offers a spacious, driver-focused interior with a 7-inch LCD virtual cockpit, a 10.25-inch floating infotainment system, and a three-spoke leather steering wheel with integrated controls.
Under the hood, a 1.5L petrol engine delivers 114PS and 150Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed iCVT automatic transmission. The powertrain has undergone extensive durability testing, covering 2.35 million kilometers.
Safety features are a priority in the MG5, with the inclusion of the MG PILOT driver assist system. This encompasses Lane Departure Warning, Lane Change Assist, Blind Spot Detection, Rear Collision Warning, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. Standard safety features include Electronic Stability Program, ABS, EBD, Traction and Cornering Brake controls, and 6 SRS Airbags.
The MG5 is available in five colours: Nuclear Yellow, Dynamic Red, Arctic White, Black Pearl, and Camden Grey. It can be experienced at MG Motor dealer showrooms nationwide.

SAIC Motor Malaysia Welcomes New Managing Director to Spearhead Expansion
In a move signalling its commitment to growth in the Malaysian automotive market, SAIC Motor Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. also announced the appointment of Mr. Emory QiFeng as its new Managing Director. The appointment comes as the company, known for its MG brand, seeks to strengthen its position in the region.
Mr. QiFeng brings over 25 years of experience in the global automotive industry to his new role. His career, which began in 1998, has been marked by significant achievements in various leadership positions within SAIC-Volkswagen Sales Co., Ltd. His expertise spans network planning, development, and after-sales strategy. In his new capacity, Mr. QiFeng will oversee all aspects of the company’s operations, including sales, marketing, and product strategy.
