Glenfiddich, the world’s most awarded single malt Scotch whisky, has launched its “Where Next Club” initiative in Malaysia to inspire personal and professional growth. The program encourages individuals to discover and embrace their unique qualities as they navigate their journey to success.
Drawing inspiration from its founder, William Grant, who first ran the stills on Christmas Day, 1887, Glenfiddich continues to empower individuals to embrace challenges and forge their own paths to success. Today, while sold in over 180 countries, Glenfiddich remains one of the few single malt distilleries to be entirely family-owned, producing whisky in the same distillery that William Grant and his children hand-built over 130 years ago.
At the heart of this initiative is the celebration of three Malaysian Mavericks: violinist Josh Kua, interior designer Jessica Ting, and entrepreneur Robin Ang. These individuals embody the Maverick spirit that Glenfiddich seeks to promote – a mindset that constantly looks for ways to improve and propel oneself to new heights in their careers.

Jessica Ting, Director of Thy Studio, exemplifies ‘The Spirit of Innovation.’ Her unique approach to interior design, influenced by her international experiences, pushes boundaries and infuses lifestyle elements into her work. Ting’s boldness in design aligns with the innovative spirit of Glenfiddich’s 15 Year Old whisky, known for its pursuit of excellence.
Josh Kua, a classically trained violinist, represents ‘The Spirit of Balanced.’ His approach to music, which blends traditional training with fearless improvisation, mirrors the versatility and balance of Glenfiddich’s 12 Year Old whisky. Kua’s mantra of embracing the unknown in his art resonates with the whisky’s symbolism of ambition, growth, and inclusivity.
Robin Ang, co-founder of three startups including fintech organization Finology, embodies ‘The Spirit of Exceptional.’ Ang’s philosophy that failure is the greatest mentor and his relentless pursuit of excellence mirror the essence of Glenfiddich’s 18 Year Old whisky. Both Ang and the whisky represent the drive to push boundaries and achieve exceptional results.
“Growth and evolution come from looking into the unknown and embracing new challenges. It’s by taking risks and confronting fear directly that true progress happens. Our Mavericks embody this spirit, consistently pushing their boundaries and venturing into uncharted territory. We aim for their stories to inspire fellow Malaysians to pursue their passions, discover what makes them unique, and reach new heights in their personal and professional journeys.”
Jyri Pylkkänen, the Regional Malts Brand Ambassador for Southeast Asia
The ‘Where Next Club’ initiative is supported by Glenfiddich’s range of award-winning whiskies, each celebrated for its unique qualities. The Glenfiddich 12 Year Old is known for its exceptional balance, while the 15 Year Old showcases the family’s tradition of innovation with its Solera Vat technique. The 18 Year Old, married in small batches, boasts extraordinary character and consistency.
