Xiaomi Unveils the Xiaomi 14T Series in Malaysia: Pushing Boundaries in Night Photography and AI Integration

Xiaomi recently launched its latest smartphone – the Xiaomi 14T Series comprising the Xiaomi 14T and Xiaomi 14T Pro, which aims to redefine smartphone photography with a focus on exceptional night-time shooting capabilities and advanced AI features. Combining sleek design, powerful MediaTek processors, and stunning AMOLED displays, the Xiaomi 14T Series offers seamless integration of AI functionality for multiple use cases.

The Xiaomi 14T Series boasts next-generation Leica optics and is powered by Xiaomi AISP, an AI-driven computational photography platform based on FusionLM. This technology significantly enhances dynamic range and reduces noise, resulting in extraordinary detail and vibrant colours even in challenging lighting conditions. The series also supports the UltraHDR format and features an improved Master Portrait mode, offering a focal range from 23mm to 75mm for layered, detailed portrait photos with enhanced depth, clarity, and a natural bokeh effect.

The Xiaomi 14T Pro stands out with its versatile triple camera system spanning five focal lengths, from 15mm to 120mm. Its 50MP main camera features a large ƒ/1.6 aperture and the latest Leica Summilux optical lens, paired with a Light Fusion 900 image sensor. With a 1/1.31″ sensor size, Dual Native ISO Fusion Max, and a 13.57EV high dynamic range, this advanced setup captures up to 32% more light than its predecessor, ensuring vibrant and detailed imagery. The device also includes a 7P aspherical high-transmittance lens to capture more light and support high dynamic range shooting.

Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 14T features Sony’s IMX906 image sensor and a triple camera system with three lenses covering four focal lengths from 15mm to 100mm. Its 50MP main camera, with a large ƒ/1.7 aperture and Leica Summilux optical lens, delivers exceptional performance in low light conditions. The 12MP ultra-wide camera with a 15mm equivalent focal length ensures crisp and detailed landscape shots.

Both devices excel in videography, offering features like Movie mode with Cinematic Blur and Rack Focus, which defaults to a 2.39:1 aspect ratio for a cinematic feel. The Director mode introduces a professional cinematography interface with advanced parameter controls. MasterCinema allows for HDR video recording in the 10-bit Rec. 2020 format, offering up to 4K recording at 30fps and capturing more detail in light and shadow.

The Xiaomi 14T Series introduces advanced AI capabilities across search, voice, text, image, and video functionalities. It features Google’s Circle to Search, allowing users to instantly search anything they see on their phone without switching apps. The series also comes with the Google Gemini app for assistance in writing, learning, planning, and more.

For enhanced productivity, AI Interpreter overcomes language barriers to improve communication during meetings and calls. AI Notes and AI Recorder enhance efficiency with speech-to-text transcription, accurate speaker recognition, and quick summaries. On the creativity side, AI Image Editing intelligently expands images, while AI Eraser Pro removes unwanted elements for flawless photos. AI Film makes creating cinematic short videos effortless, and AI Portrait generates personalized avatars.

Both models sport a 6.67-inch AMOLED CrystalRes Display with 1.5K resolution (2712 x 1220), 446 ppi pixel density, and 12-bit colour depth. The display offers a high refresh rate of up to 144Hz, DCI-P3 colour coverage, and a peak brightness of 4000 nits. The next-generation AI display intelligently adjusts colour temperature and brightness based on usage scenarios and time of day.

Audio quality is enhanced with Hi-Res Audio Wireless certification, stereo speakers, and Dolby Atmos® technology for immersive sound.

The Xiaomi 14T Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ processor, delivering a 37% boost in multi-core CPU performance and a 44% improvement in graphics performance compared to its predecessor. It’s enhanced by the Xiaomi Surge T1 Tuner for stable connectivity and the Xiaomi 3D IceLoop system for effective heat management.

The Xiaomi 14T uses the MediaTek Dimensity 8300-Ultra chip, offering a 20% boost in CPU performance and a 60% improvement in GPU performance.

In terms of battery life and charging, the Xiaomi 14T Pro features a 5000mAh battery with 120W HyperCharge, allowing a full charge in just 19 minutes, and 50W wireless charging capabilities. The Xiaomi 14T also has a 5000mAh battery with 67W HyperCharge for fast wired charging.

Both devices feature a sleek metallic deco design and an ultra-narrow 1.7mm bezel. They boast an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. The Xiaomi 14T Pro features a refined metallic frame that offers up to 116% greater resilience against bending and damage compared to the previous generation. The 3D curved back enhances comfort and grip.

The Xiaomi 14T Pro is available in Titan Gray, Titan Blue, and Titan Black, with prices starting from RM 2,599 for the 12GB+256GB variant, RM 2,999 for the 12GB+512GB variant, and RM 3,499 for the 12GB+1TB variant.

The Xiaomi 14T comes in Titan Blue, Titan Black, and Lemon Green, starting from RM 1,899 for the 12GB+256GB variant and RM 2,199 for the 12GB+512GB variant.
