At MBFWKL 2024, we are not merely showcasing fashion; we are unveiling a vision for the future of luxury and mobility. This event is a platform to celebrate and support designers who are challenging conventions and championing sustainability, both in fashion and in our vehicles. As we enter our sixth year, we reaffirm our commitment to fostering creativity and providing a stage for both emerging and established talents to present their visionary work. As Mercedes-Benz ushers in an era of electric mobility, sustainability remains a key focus while celebrating the luxury of its cars and embracing eco-friendly fashion. Through this event, Mercedes-Benz proudly supports local fashion talents who not only capture the essence of luxury but also prioritize sustainability in their designs and creative processes.

Set against the industrial backdrop of The Yard at Sentul Depot from 16 to 18 August 2024, fashion enthusiasts admired stunning styles and designs from over 10 designers over three days of captivating haute couture, contemporary glamour, creativity, and elegance. Attendees also had the unique opportunity to experience Mercedes-Benz’s luxury and performance firsthand through exclusive test drives.

MBFWKL 2024 opened with collections from up-and-coming brands like EL by Ellie Lim and DOUBLEBACK by Will Lim, alongside established names such as Alice Chang of A-JANE and NOIZ. Ellie Lim’s beautiful textures and eco-friendly fabrics are set to wow audiences, while Will Lim’s bold approach is expected to strike a chord with the crowd. The designers’ dedication to green practices is clear in every detail. Alice Chang’s joint show for A-JANE and NOIZ further highlights the event’s focus on sustainability. With 90% of her collection made using carbon-neutral processes and waste-reducing methods, Chang shows that eco-friendly fashion can be both cutting-edge and marketable.

This year’s event marked a significant milestone for MBFWKL, celebrating its growth from a local showcase to an internationally recognised platform. The lineup featured a mix of experienced designers and newcomers, including Celest Thoi, Aaron Yong, and Oscar Lee, all pushing boundaries with sustainable practices and innovative designs. MBFWKL 2024 also included Club21’s presentation of international brands like Self-Portrait, AMIRI, and Jacquemus, bringing a global perspective to the local stage.

The event wrapped up with performances by industry leaders such as Brian Khoo, Jonathan Cheng, and Voon Lai from Unitedwood, along with Dickson Lim, who won the 2023 World Federation of Master Tailors Emerging Design competition. After his triumph in Italy, Lim presented a collection that blends his unique style with eco-friendly methods.
