Grand Hyatt Singapore Reopens with Reimagined Urban Sanctuary Experience

Grand Hyatt Singapore has officially reopened its doors on 10 July 2024, unveiling the first phase of its extensive multi-year transformation. The iconic hotel, located steps away from the bustling Orchard Road, now offers travellers a reimagined urban sanctuary experience with a focus on sustainability and wellness.

The reopening introduces the nature-inspired Terrace Wing, which provides guests with tranquil spaces surrounded by lush gardens and cascading waterfalls. This new addition complements the enhanced Fitness Centre and 25-metre lap pool, offering a perfect blend of relaxation and activity. Culinary enthusiasts can look forward to the return of StraitsKitchen, featuring local ethnic cuisine, while nightlife aficionados will appreciate BRIX, the hotel’s vibrant hotspot.

“As we embark on this new chapter, we are excited to welcome guests to enjoy the elevated and captivating moments that this iconic hotel has been known for more than five decades. We also look forward to unveiling fresh, energising experiences that have been thoughtfully curated by our trusted team as we continue to deliver Grand Hyatt Singapore’s hallmark service from the heart.”

Mr. Willi Martin, Area Vice President for Southeast Asia and General Manager of Grand Hyatt Singapore

For now, 10|Scotts will serve as the Grand Club Lounge until early 2025. The hotel’s 16 event spaces are fully operational, ready to host a variety of celebrations and memorable events. Later this year, food lovers can anticipate the Southeast Asian debut of Le Pristine Singapore, a collaboration with Michelin-starred chef Sergio Herman, which will take over the space previously occupied by mezza9. Other popular dining options set to return include the Martini Bar, Pete’s Place with its classic Italian fare, and poolside dining at Oasis. Damai, the hotel’s wellness hub, is also preparing to welcome guests with enhanced holistic well-being experiences.

The transformation of Grand Hyatt Singapore will be complete in early 2025 with the reopening of the Grand Wing. This final phase will solidify the hotel’s evolution into a Grand Living Room and Wellness Haven, featuring 699 guestrooms and suites designed to provide diverse spaces for guests to gather, celebrate, and rejuvenate.

The newly transformed Terrace Wing, jointly designed by Tokyo-based Strickland and NAO Taniyama, and U.K.-based landscape architecture practice Grant Associates, offers a secluded world immersed in nature. At its core is a meandering tropical garden with waterfalls, complemented by refreshed wellness facilities including a 24-hour Fitness Centre, a 25-metre lap swimming pool, and an outdoor lawn area for guided meditation, yoga, pilates, and boot camps.

The 292 Terrace Wing rooms reflect Singapore’s “City in Nature” identity, featuring soothing neutral tones with ice-green marble accents and elegant wooden furnishings that evoke a resort ambience. Starting at 42 square metres, these rooms are among the largest in Orchard Road and include modern amenities such as a cosy daybed, dual-sink vanity, and a multi-purpose table. For those seeking direct access to the gardens and pools, five newly created 1 King Bed Garden Studio guestrooms are available. The hotel also boasts three well-appointed Presidential Suites, each spanning 252 square metres, perfect for hosting exclusive events or luxurious relaxation.

Guided by Hyatt’s food philosophy, “Food. Thoughtfully Sourced. Carefully Served”, Grand Hyatt Singapore continues to deliver grand gourmet experiences that offer new, diverse menus inspired by global and local cuisines:

  • StraitsKitchen – Renowned for its vibrant, marketplace ambience and extensive array of uniquely Singaporean specialties made fresh in show kitchens, StraitsKitchen returns with refreshed interiors and perfected menus. The halal-certified kitchen features all-time favourites, such as chilli crab, laksa, butter chicken, satay plus beverages like teh tarik
  • BRIX – A lively underground nightspot, the bar features three different sections – Main Bar, Wine Bar, and Whisky Bar, where guests can enjoy live renditions of popular repertoires and modern hits from an international band.
  • 10|Scotts – With the new Grand Club Lounge to be unveiled in 2025, World of Hyatt Globalists and guests staying in club-access rooms can enjoy complimentary afternoon teas, snacks, and small bites at 10|Scotts. The residential-style lounge on the hotel lobby level is also ideal for business meetings and casual gatherings.

The hotel’s dining options are set to expand further in the coming months. Oasis will reopen in August 2024, offering guests all-day poolside dining on Orchard Road, complete with BBQ, cocktails, and live DJ music. Pete’s Place, a beloved icon since 1973, will make its return, serving its classic Italian cuisine of familiar comforts. In October 2024, food enthusiasts can look forward to the debut of Le Pristine Singapore, featuring Chef Sergio Herman’s Michelin-starred contemporary cuisine with Zeeland influences. This new addition will be complemented by a revamped Martini Bar, further enhancing the hotel’s diverse culinary offerings.

Grand Hyatt Singapore continues to lead the way in sustainable hospitality, operating on 100 percent renewable electricity through a partnership with local retailer FLO Energy. The hotel’s in-house food waste management plant features a contactless WasteMaster automated system, while an automated in-house water bottling plant provides purified water in reusable glass bottles, reducing plastic waste.

The reimagined Damai spa will offer elevated wellness experiences, blending therapeutic rituals with science-backed treatments and traditional remedies. New facilities will include a Wellness Pool, Halo Steam Room, Dual Therapy Sauna, Air Lounge Hydro Pool, and a state-of-the-art Fitness Centre. Ms. Thea Wong, the hotel’s Director of Wellbeing, will lead this initiative, further emphasizing the hotel’s commitment to holistic wellness.

To celebrate the reopening, Grand Hyatt Singapore is offering a limited-time promotion of up to 15% savings for World of Hyatt members, valid for bookings made until 31 August 2024, for stays before 31 December 2024.
