MINI Malaysia recently held their New MINI Family Launch Event to introduce the New MINI Family, featuring four new models that embody the brand’s fresh design language of “Charismatic Simplicity.” This exciting launch marks a significant step towards emission-free urban mobility with the inclusion of two fully-electric vehicles, showcasing MINI’s commitment to a sustainable future.

The star of the show, the New MINI Cooper SE, made its Malaysian debut at the event. This latest electric addition to the MINI family carries on the legacy of the iconic MINI Cooper, offering the familiar charm and go-kart handling that MINI enthusiasts have loved for generations, but with a modern twist in the form of an electric powertrain.

Alongside the Cooper SE, three other new-generation MINIs were showcased, each catering to different driving styles and needs:

• The New All-Electric MINI Countryman SE ALL4: A spacious and practical option for eco-conscious families who crave adventure.
• The New MINI John Cooper Works (JCW) Countryman ALL4: For those seeking a thrilling driving experience with a sporty edge, without compromising on all-wheel-drive capability.
• The New MINI Cooper S: A powerful gasoline-powered option that retains the classic MINI driving experience with a touch of modern refinement.

The New MINI Cooper SE boasts a sleek design that stays true to the brand’s heritage. The new octagonal front grille features intricate details, while LED headlights with three selectable light signatures add a modern touch and a touch of personalization. The car’s silhouette is defined by short overhangs, a long wheelbase, and taut surfaces that create a more muscular look. A minimalist approach is evident in the flush door openers and the absence of traditional side scuttles, highlighting the stylish 18-inch Night Flash spoke wheels.

Stepping inside the New MINI Cooper SE, the focus is on clean lines and high-quality materials that create a premium feel. The driver is greeted by a three-spoke sport steering wheel and a MINI Head-Up Display that projects essential information directly in their line of sight. A round, 240mm OLED display serves as the central hub for various controls, surrounded by high-quality materials for a cozy and pleasant atmosphere. The redesigned center console offers increased storage capacity and improved ergonomics, making everything within easy reach.

The New MINI Cooper SE packs a punch with 218 horsepower and 330 Nm of torque, propelling the car from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.7 seconds. This electric motor delivers instant torque, providing a thrilling and characteristic MINI go-kart feel. The battery offers a zero-emission range of 387 to 402 kilometers on a single charge, making it perfect for navigating the city and minimizing your environmental impact. The battery can be conveniently charged with either AC or DC fast charging, ensuring you can get back on the road quickly.

The New MINI Cooper SE comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of driver assistance systems, including Lane Change Warning, Lane Departure Warning, and Front Collision Warning with automatic braking, providing peace of mind during your daily commute. Parking is a breeze with Parking Assistant Plus, which includes features like Park Assist and Reversing Camera with a panoramic rear view, making even tight spaces a cinch to manoeuvre.

The New MINI Cooper SE features the New MINI Operating System 9, offering a user-friendly interface with a distinctive MINI style. The system is accessible through the revolutionary MINI Interaction Unit, providing an immersive and digitalized experience. The MINI Intelligent Personal Assistant, a first for MINI, allows for voice-controlled navigation, telephony, entertainment, and numerous other vehicle functions, keeping your eyes on the road and your hands on the wheel.

The MINI App further enhances the ownership experience by providing remote access to various features. These include Remote 3D View, allowing you to check on your parked MINI from your phone, Remote Engine Start to pre-heat or cool the car before you get in, and MyTrips which provides insights into your driving style and recent journeys.
