Dom Pérignon Unveils New Vintages at Revelations 2024

On 8 July 2024, the esteemed champagne house Dom Pérignon hosted its fourth annual Revelations event in the vibrant city of Barcelona. This exclusive gathering brought together a distinguished group of artists, creators, chefs, and sommeliers from the Dom Pérignon Society worldwide. The event offered an immersive exploration of the Maison’s creative journey and culminated in the unveiling of two highly anticipated new vintages.

Born from an exceptionally contrasted year, Dom Pérignon Vintage 2015 reveals an unwavering presence. Initially dark and enigmatic, it reveals a profound textural complexity that defines the Dom Pérignon experience. The dense matter of Vintage 2015 anchors its natural authority, which progressively becomes horizontal, broad and rectilinear.

With Dom Pérignon Vintage 2006 Plénitude 2, Dom Pérignon reconnects with the year 2006. At each step of its evolution, this vintage confirms that time is essential in the equation of Dom Pérignon. Vintage 2006 has the distinctive ability to become refined over time, to become more precise, to reach a higher evolution. The palate is marked by a pronounced saline tension, while the bitterness has evolved into a subtle and delicate element, balancing the wine’s inherent generosity with a newfound elegance and sophistication.

Held at the iconic La Fábrica, a architectural masterpiece by Ricardo Bofill, the Revelations 2024 showcased Dom Pérignon Vintage 2015 and Dom Pérignon Vintage 2006 Plénitude 2. The event also marked a significant milestone for the storied champagne house as it inaugurated its first exhibition, “TRACE.” This groundbreaking showcase offers a unique insight into the creative process behind Dom Pérignon, known as Pré-Assemblages.

A star-studded guest list, including Spanish artist Rossy de Palma, Italian actress Valeria Bruni Tedeschi, and American principal dancer Julian MacKay, descended upon Barcelona for the event. The evening unfolded with a captivating experiential dinner, a collaborative masterpiece by Chef de Cave Vincent Chaperon and Michelin-starred chefs Albert Adrià and Niko Romito. Their culinary creations were designed to harmonize with the sensory qualities of the newly released Dom Pérignon vintages, creating a truly unforgettable gastronomic experience.

To further enhance the guests’ appreciation of the wines, renowned French pianist Bertrand Chamayou performed experimental compositions by American composer John Cage. The incorporation of silence within the music provided a contemplative backdrop for savouring the nuances of the Dom Pérignon vintages. Building on their successful partnership, Dom Pérignon and Chef Albert Adrià will unveil a bespoke gastronomic experience inspired by the new vintages at the Enigma restaurant starting in September 2024.

The “TRACE” exhibition, open to the public from 10 to 14 July 2024 at Palau Martorell, Barcelona, offers a rare glimpse into the heart of Dom Pérignon’s creative process. This immersive experience showcases the journey of Chef de Cave Vincent Chaperon as he transforms emotions and intuitions into the final expression of Dom Pérignon. Through a curated collection of drawings, photographs, and texts, visitors can witness the “imperceptible trace” that guides the creation of this exceptional champagne.
