Etihad Unveils 20th Anniversary Livery

Etihad Airways, the national carrier of the United Arab Emirates, has unveiled a stunning new livery to celebrate their 20th anniversary. This commemorative design, adorning one of their six recently acquired Airbus A321neo aircraft, goes beyond simple aesthetics. The line-style artwork, showcasing iconic landmarks from Abu Dhabi, serves as a visual tribute to the airline’s rich history and its deep connection to its home base.
“The livery marks our 20th year of delivering remarkable service, fulfilling our mission to deliver extraordinary experiences inspired by our Emirati identity. It reflects the journey we have been on, and it also sets the tone for our future as we give flight to our ambition, to be the airline that everyone wants to fly.”
Antonoaldo Neves, Etihad’s Chief Executive Officer
The special livery isn’t just a visual treat – it also embodies Etihad’s commitment to cultural inclusivity. The decal, featuring the airline’s name and the anniversary message, wraps around both sides of the fuselage in both Arabic and English. This thoughtful detail reflects the UAE’s diverse population and Etihad’s role as a global connector.
Furthermore, the arrival of the A321neos marks a significant step forward for Etihad’s fleet modernization efforts. Each of these new aircraft boasts cutting-edge CFM LEAP 1A engines, offering a win-win for both passengers and the environment. These engines deliver a substantial reduction in emissions while achieving up to 20% greater efficiency compared to similar models. This translates to a smoother, quieter flight experience for passengers while minimizing Etihad’s environmental footprint.
“We are pleased to have brought in this fleet so quickly after committing the aircraft in December last year. With constrained aircraft deliveries worldwide, this fleet is an important bridge for our growth plans as we anticipate the arrival of over 20 new aircraft in 2025. An airline normally takes up to two years to bring a new airframe and engine type into operation, and it is a testament to the speed and flexibility of our Etihad teams and our partners that we have been able to commission them safely and compliantly within seven months.”
John Wright, Etihad’s Chief Operations and Guest Officer
The deployment of the A321neos across various routes, with a particular focus on India and the Middle East, offers a double benefit. Passengers flying these routes will have the opportunity to experience the enhanced comfort and efficiency of the new aircraft while also getting a glimpse of the commemorative livery. This strategic move not only showcases Etihad’s commitment to offering a superior travel experience but also highlights their dedication to continuous growth and innovation. As Etihad celebrates two decades of success, this special livery and the arrival of the A321neo fleet serve as a powerful symbol of the airline’s unwavering commitment to connecting people, cultures, and destinations across the globe, all while embracing a sustainable future.
