Chef Wong boasts an impressive career, having honed his skills in prestigious restaurants across Malaysia, Singapore, and Norway. Renowned for his innovative approach to traditional flavours, Chef Wong brings a wealth of experience to Chynna.

Prepare to be impressed by Chef Wong’s meticulously crafted dim sum creations, each a testament to his dedication and artistry. Dim sum is an art form, and Chef Wong has spent years perfecting his craft. These premium dim sum selections are available now, starting from RM 38 – RM 42 Nett.

  • Steamed Lobster and Shrimp Dumpling with Asparagus: Succulent lobster and shrimp combine with the refreshing taste of asparagus in these delicately steamed dumplings.
  • Snow Crab and Shrimp Dumpling with Carrots: Enjoy the delicate flavours of snow crab and shrimp, encased in a translucent dumpling skin and paired with the subtle sweetness of carrots.
  • Black Swan Thousand-Layer Pastry Stuffed with Roasted Duck, Foie Gras, and Mushrooms: Indulge in decadence with layers of flaky pastry filled with tender roasted duck, rich foie gras, and earthy mushrooms.
  • Black Pepper Wagyu Beef Pastry: Melt-in-your-mouth goodness of premium Wagyu beef infused with the bold flavours of black pepper, all encased in a golden, flaky pastry.
Almost too pretty to eat! The combination of flavours and textures was pretty intriguing!

Unveiling Special Dragon Boat Festival Rice Dumplings

In celebration of the Dragon Boat Festival, Chef Wong has created a stunning selection of rice dumplings. These limited-edition offerings showcase his passion for culinary artistry and dedication to using high-quality ingredients. Diners can enjoy these dumplings at the restaurant or take them away, with prices starting from RM 48 Nett for two pieces. The special menu is available until June 10th, 2024.

  • Vegetarian Glutinous Rice Dumpling with Assorted Mushroom and Black Truffle: Experience a symphony of flavours with this indulgent dumpling featuring an exquisite blend of mushrooms, truffle paste, and decadent black truffle, enveloped in fragrant glutinous rice.
  • Shrimp Sambal Abalone Glutinous Rice Dumpling: Dive into a luxurious dumpling filled with premium abalone and a spicy shrimp-sambal sauce, all nestled within a tender, savoury rice casing.
  • Hainan Chicken Glutinous Rice Dumpling: Savour the essence of Hainanese cuisine with this traditional dumpling featuring tender Hainan chicken, fragrant rice, and aromatic herbs and spices served with chilli and scallion-ginger dipping sauce.
  • Glutinous Rice Dumpling with Longan Lotus and Pistachio Nuts: Enjoy a delicate sweet rice dumpling filled with Longan and nutty pistachio, served with dried Longan-sugar.
Don’t forget to try their decadent desserts like the Mango Ball with Jasmine Tea and White Chocolate which I thoroughly enjoyed even though I’m not a sweet tooth as it was not too sweet and had a lovely balance of richness and piquant flavours!

We were particularly impressed by the creativity showcased in Chynna’s new dim sum menu. Chef Wong’s extensive experience is evident, particularly in his ability to adapt traditional pork-based dishes to a pork-free menu (Chynna is a pork-free restaurant). His use of natural ingredients to replicate flavours like char siew demonstrates remarkable ingenuity, while his combination of flavours and textures showcased his time working in Norway. resulting in a truly delightful dining experience. The presentation of each dish was equally superb, further elevating the overall impression.
