ExecuJet MRO Services Celebrates Grand Opening of Malaysia’s Largest Business Aviation MRO Facility

ExecuJet MRO Services Malaysia, a subsidiary of Dassault Aviation, celebrated the grand opening of its brand new, purpose-built maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility at Subang Airport on 2 May 2024. This impressive facility spans a massive 149,500 square feet, making it the largest business aviation MRO centre in all of Malaysia. This new space more than doubles the size of ExecuJet’s previous Malaysian operation (opened in 2009) and signifies a major commitment to serving business jet operators throughout Asia. The opening further strengthens Malaysia’s position as a key MRO hub catering to the region’s rapidly growing business aviation market.

The ceremony was graced by distinguished guests including YB Anthony Loke, Malaysia’s Minister of Transport, alongside Jean Kayanakis, Senior VP of Worldwide Falcon Customer Service & Service Centre Network for Dassault Aviation, and Graeme Duckworth, President of ExecuJet MRO Services Group.

“Today’s opening marks a pivotal moment for ExecuJet MRO Services’ presence in the region. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Malaysian Government, Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad and Dassault Aviation for their unwavering support for this expansion project. Without their assistance, we wouldn’t be here. We are expanding support for operators of multiple aircraft brands across the region. The Subang facility is key to that strategy.”

ExecuJet MRO Services traces its roots back to 1991 in South Africa and has since become a global leader in the industry. In addition to their new Malaysian facility and their South African headquarters, ExecuJet operates MRO centres in Australia, New Zealand, the United Arab Emirates, and Belgium. They also hold a franchise agreement in China. ExecuJet is renowned for its commitment to training, ensuring its personnel hold the necessary international certifications. This allows them to perform line and heavy maintenance on a diverse range of aircraft, from Falcons and Bombardier jets to Gulfstream models. These qualifications extend to servicing airplanes registered under regional civil aviation authorities, as well as those approved by the FAA and EASA.

The new Subang facility boasts dedicated training space to further enhance these capabilities and support workforce growth. In fact, Ivan Lim, ExecuJet MRO Services’ Regional VP Asia, anticipates expanding the Subang workforce from its current 84 employees to 100 by the end of 2024, with continued growth projected over the next five years.
