The all-new Gulfstream G700 has officially received the much-anticipated Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) type certification, clearing the path for deliveries of this record-breaking business jet. This green light from the FAA also confirmed two impressive performance improvements for the G700: a shorter balanced field length takeoff distance of 5,995 feet (1,827 meters) and a landing distance of 3,150 feet (960 meters) – both exceeding initial expectations.
These certifications come on the heels of performance enhancements announced by Gulfstream in September 2023. The G700 boasts an extended range of 7,750 nautical miles (14,353 kilometers) at Mach 0.85 and 6,650 nautical miles (12,316 kilometers) at Mach 0.90, surpassing initial projections by 250 nautical miles at both speeds. Additionally, the G700 has claimed the title of the fastest aircraft in Gulfstream’s fleet with a maximum operating speed of Mach 0.935, up from Mach 0.925.
“We have successfully completed the most rigorous certification program in company history with the G700. I’d like to thank our world-class team of flight test, certification and engineering professionals, along with the many others at Gulfstream who have contributed to this accomplishment. The G700 brings a new level of performance and cabin comfort to business aviation and is doing so while meeting the highest certification standards our industry has ever seen. I would also like to extend my thanks to the FAA G700 certification team for their support. On behalf of Gulfstream’s more than 20,000 employees worldwide, I am proud and excited to begin our G700 customer deliveries.”
Mark Burns, president, Gulfstream

Beyond the impressive range and speed, passenger comfort remains a top priority. Gulfstream has further reduced the G700’s cabin altitude to a record-low 2,840 feet (866 meters) while cruising at 41,000 feet (12,497 meters). This translates to an even more comfortable flying experience. Passengers can also expect whisper-quiet noise levels, stunning views through 20 Gulfstream Panoramic Oval Windows, and the luxury of 100% fresh, never recirculated air.

The G600 boasts impressive capabilities, capable of travelling 6,600 nautical miles (12,223 kilometers) at Mach 0.85 or 5,600 nautical miles (10,371 kilometers) at Mach 0.90. In fact, the G600 holds over 35 city-pair speed records. This powerful aircraft can fly nonstop from Toluca to Rome at Mach 0.90 and recently achieved a historic feat – the world’s first trans-Atlantic flight powered by 100% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) in both engines. Technological advancements are another highlight of the G600, featuring the innovative Gulfstream Symmetry Flight Deck with active control sidesticks and the industry’s most extensive use of touchscreen technology. With over 130 G600s already in service, this aircraft is a proven leader in its class.
Alongside the G600, Gulfstream will also be showcasing the versatile G280. This super-midsize jet offers a range of 3,600 nautical miles (6,667 kilometers) at Mach 0.80, allowing for nonstop flights from Toluca to destinations like Vancouver, British Columbia, or La Paz, Bolivia, at Mach 0.84. The G280 is renowned for its ability to navigate challenging airports thanks to its impressive steep-approach and short-field performance capabilities. Gulfstream remains committed to continuous improvement of the G280, developing new features that elevate the passenger experience, enhance safety, and streamline pilot workload. With over 270 G280s in operation worldwide, this jet is a popular choice for those seeking a balance between range and performance.
Both the G600 and G280 share the exceptional amenities of the Gulfstream Cabin Experience, featuring 100% fresh air circulation, whisper-quiet noise levels, ample natural light, and a low cabin altitude for minimized in-flight fatigue. The G600 takes cabin comfort a step further with its award-winning seating and interior design. The latest G280 enhancements also include a lower cabin altitude, further reducing strain on passengers and ensuring they arrive feeling refreshed and ready for their next adventure.
