Exclusive Bell 505 Flight Over Kuala Lumpur

We were most honoured to be invited for an exclusive flight over Kuala Lumpur in a Bell 505 which was flown over from Bell’s regional HQ in Singapore specially to allow a selected number of potential customers in Kuala Lumpur to experience the short light single in flight.

The Bell 505 is one of company’s fastest-growing products for corporate and VIP markets. As the demand for this aircraft increases, Bell has continued to introduce technologies for the Bell 505 including an enhanced avionic suite and auto-pilot capabilities.

The Bell 505 is the newest five-seat aircraft designed for safety and efficiency while using the most advanced technology to date. A fully integrated Garmin G1000H NXi avionics suite and Safran Arrius 2R engine with a dual-channel FADEC provide maximized situational awareness and workload reduction to fly successfully in a multitude of scenarios.

With the added benefit of a large cabin and panoramic window views, the Bell 505 is ideal for corporate passengers, heli tours, private owner adventures, law enforcement, emergency services and even as a training aircraft for the military.

My partner with the Bell 505

The Bell 505 helicopter was designed to elevate the flight experience, offering unparalleled comfort and convenience for both passengers and pilots. With advanced aerodynamic design, a state-of-the-art engine, and a host of technological advancements, the Bell 505 prioritizes safety, efficiency, and reliability.

The Bell 505 ensures a comfortable and enjoyable flight for every passenger with forward-facing seats that provide enhanced views during flight, while a fully flat floor allows for more cabin configuration options. Large doors make boarding and loading cargo easier, and improved visibility increases situational awareness for everyone on board. The quieter system meets Stage 3 requirements from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), ensuring a serene and pleasant flying experience.

Enhanced pilot convenience with the Garmin G1000H NXi avionics suite

The Bell 505 is designed to make flying a breeze for pilots with the Safran Arrius 2R engine with a dual-channel Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC) system that increases fuel efficiency and reliability, while a high inertia rotor system provides excellent autorotation capability.

A fully integrated Garmin G1000H™ NXi flight deck with twin 10.4” LCD screens reduces pilot workload, and optional flight displays, including Traffic Advisory System (TAS), Helicopter Terrain Awareness and Warning System (HTAWS), Garmin’s Helicopter Synthetic Vision Technology™ (HSVT), and “Pathway in the Sky” display, enhance situational awareness.

The Bell 505 embodies a commitment to safety, efficiency, and reliability. Advanced aerodynamic design and a state-of-the-art engine harness the power of technology to improve the aircraft’s most critical elements. The result is a helicopter that delivers a superior flight experience for both passengers and pilots.

Back on the ground at Subang Skypark after a most memorable flight

It was quite an exhilarating flight from the heliport in Subang Skypark to Batu Caves, Kuala Lumpur city centre and back to Subang Skypark overflying Petaling Jaya. It was our first time viewing the city’s landmarks from 1,000+ feet altitude which gave us a hugely different perspective.

We felt safe in the Bell 505 which was so smooth and comfortable you’d forget that you’re actually flying in a rotary-wing aircraft. The aircraft was effortlessly stable in hover and during turns. In case you were wondering, yes the aircraft is outfitted with an air-conditioning system which is vital for tropical countries like Malaysia.

I noticed that the Garmin G1000H NXi avionics suite greatly reduced the workload on the pilot and ensured that our pilot who was highly experienced (I love chatting with pilots who usually regal us with lots of their entertaining exploits!) could fully concentrate on flying the aircraft, give us passengers a wonderful view of the city’s landmarks and even chat a bit when there was a lull in air traffic control chatter.

Should you be interested in purchasing a Bell 505 (which costs around USD 2 million each), do contact me and I’ll personally put you in touch with Bell’s regional sales team.
