The third edition of the Selangor Aviation Show (SAS 2023) was held at Skypark RAC, Bukit Jelutong, Selangor, from 7 to 9 September 2023, officiated by YAB Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari, Chief Minister of Selangor during the opening ceremony on 7 September 2023.

SAS 2023, hosted by the state government of Selangor and organised by Invest Selangor Berhad, provided a dynamic networking platform for global, regional, and local aviation industry players, particularly those in the business and general aviation sectors, to network, dialogue, and share their products and expertise.

SAS 2023, themed “The Only Business & General Aviation Show in the Region,” provided an opportunity for all participants to experience the excitement and innovation that the aviation industry has to offer, showcasing the latest advancements and products in these sectors, with a focus on excellence, innovation, and growth.

The primary goal of SAS 2023 is to provide a networking platform for businesses in the region and to generate economic growth by utilising Selangor as a regional gateway.

Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari also emphasised that with an astounding 67% of the aerospace global players based right here in Selangor, SAS in 2022 recorded potential transactions worth up to RM1.069 billion, which he described as a testament to the government’s hard work and vision, as well as the industry’s support.

SAS 2023 is gaining traction, particularly among global partners, and Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari anticipates that SAS will be the regional platform that bridges industry players with potential investors and partners both domestically and globally, establishing Selangor as ASEAN’s Business & General Aviation Hub.

“SAS 2023 promises to be the most exciting edition of this event to date. SAS 2023 expects to have over 20,000 visitors registered, with close to 50 static aircraft displays, 33 forums and talks with 65 speakers. We are also anticipating total potential transactions worth up to RM700 million and more to be sealed this week.”

Local aviation players were well-represented, as were foreign players from the United States of America, France, Denmark, Singapore, Australia, and Hong Kong.

Product, services, and technology exhibitions, static aircraft displays, drone displays, networking sessions, several presentations on industry hot themes, and the SAS 2023 Career Fair are among the highlights of the SAS 2023. The employment expo will include 25 leading aviation firms to provide professional possibilities for young and energetic individuals to build Selangor’s future of aerospace and aviation.

Apart from the scheduled programmes, SAS 2023 witnessed several MOU exchanges. Some key highlights are between Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) (“MBI Selangor”) with six (6) key players within the Aerospace Industry, namely SIMAero, Sir Ventures, Dviation Group, Bibus Metals, Aerospace Malaysia Innovation Centre (AMIC) and Subang MRO. The scope of the MOUs is focused on the development of the Selangor Aero Park (SAP) for the Aerospace Industry here in Selangor and the region.
