Guinness Malaysia’s 2023 St. Patrick’s Celebration – “Our Day to Remember”

For St. Patrick’s Day, Guinness Malaysia is returning with a month-long celebration for fans. The goal of “Our Day to Remember,” Guinness Malaysia’s St. Patrick’s Day celebration in 2023, is to bring fans together to celebrate their loved ones, who are their true lucky charms, while remembering the happy moments they had with Guinness. The brand has planned a number of activities, games, and giveaways for fans to enjoy between now and the end of March 2023 at participating bars and pubs.

This year, there will be a Guinness St. Patrick’s anthem which you can access (for non-Muslims, aged 21 and above only) at www.guinnessstpatricks.com. With this, you can immortalise your memories in the form of a reel or video and post it on your social media platforms using the soundtrack. Simply select up to eight photos and your lucky charms creating memories, then compile them into a reel or video with the exclusive Guinness St. Patrick’s Anthem accompanying it.

Guinness will also be rewarding fans who travel down memory lane and sing the Guinness St. Patrick’s hymn with exclusive merchandise. The more fans use the anthem, the more prizes will be unlocked. For every 30 uses of the anthem, Guinness will give away three prizes, meanwhile for every 300 uses, 30 prizes will be unlocked, and if 3,000 fans use the anthem, 300 users will stand to walk away with the prizes. Up for grabs are the exclusive Guinness mugs, as well as the Guinness festive St. Patrick’s hats.

“St. Patrick’s Day is an important one for Guinness since the aspect of communion is so deeply engrained in our brand DNA. We wanted to introduce a novel and magical experience for fans to commemorate the good times with our Guinness St. Patrick’s Anthem. Besides celebrating their loved ones – their true lucky charms – we will be further amplifying the Guinness St. Patrick’s celebration with an array of activities and games for Guinness lovers all month long.”

John Wick: Chapter 4

Keanu Reeves returns in one of his signature roles in JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 4, as the un-retired hitman uncovers a path to defeating The High Table – a council of twelve crime lords that governs the underworld’s most powerful organizations, which has put a multi-million-dollar bounty on Wick’s head for his defiance. But before Wick can earn his freedom, he must face off against a new enemy with powerful alliances around the globe that turns old friends into deadly foes.

A new day is dawning in Wick’s world: new rules, new ideas, and new management, as personified by The High Table’s sadistic frontman, Marquis. But now, win or lose, Wick has a way out: challenge the Marquis to single combat. If Wick prevails, the Table will honour its word and Wick will no longer have a target on his back. Whatever the fateful outcome, John Wick knows that he left a good life behind a long time ago.

Returning to the beloved film series are Laurence Fishburne, as The Bowery King, Ian McShane, as Winston, the owner of the New York Continental Hotel, which is frequented by the world’s most accomplished killers; and (the sadly recently deceased) Lance Reddick, as Charon, the hotel’s loyal and distinguished concierge.

Joining the cast is action superstar and martial artist Donnie Yen, as Caine, Wick’s longtime friend, who must turn against Wick when The High Table threatens a family member; Bill Skarsgård (Pennywise the Clown in the It films) as the Table’s sadistic emissary, the Marquis; martial arts/action film star Hiroyuki Sanada (Bullet Train, Army of the Dead), as Shimazu, another Wick friend and the proprietor of the Osaka Continental Hotel; Shamier Anderson as The Tracker, who, as his name suggests, is hunting Wick; Rina Sawayama, as Akira, Shimazu’s daughter and the Osaka Continental’s concierge; and martial arts star Scott Adkins as Killa, a jumbo-sized wild card shark/ killer who is targeting Wick.

I managed to catch the preview and I must say that it was a satisfying end to the series. Expect lots of action as usual but the storyline was well-paced and even though it was a rather long movie it certainly didn’t feel like one. It was wonderful seeing so many action stars of various ethnicities together in one movie. Even more interesting was the fact that some of them acted together in previous movies – Keanu Reeves and Laurence Fishburne in The Matrix (1, 2 and 3), Donnie Yen and Scott Adkins in Ip Man 4, Hiroyuki Sanada and Keanu Reeves in 47 Ronin.

The final act/ scene is set in the city of Paris and provides an amazingly picturesque tour around some of the city’s iconic monuments including the Louvre and Eiffel Tower, as well as action scenes around the Arc de Triomphe and on the 222 steps to the Sacré-Cœur Basilica (Sacré-Cœur) as John Wick fights his way to the final battle.

The storyline builds and builds and keeps you in suspense right up to the final moments of the movie. If you watched the previous John Wick movies, you have to watch this one!

John Wick: Chapter 4 opens in Malaysian cinemas on 23 March 2023.
