The warm ember colour of this distinctive single malt, which was inspired by Hogmanay, the ancient Scottish New Year’s Eve celebration, honours the significance of fire at this particular time of year. The Macallan’s Brand Ambassador, Jeremy Lee, gave an introduction regarding The Macallan A Night On Earth In Scotland to the visitors during the session. He explained that the vanilla sweetness of the whisky is a nod to the traditional shortbread biscuits that are commonly gifted and consumed on Hogmanay, while the notes of dried orange and spice represent the flavours and aromas that permeate homes throughout Speyside and all of Scotland during the festive season.

This Lunar New Year, The Macallan has also collaborated with entrepreneur Aaron Chin to create a short film with The Macallan A Night On Earth In Scotland to remind people of the traditions they have developed over time and of the memories they have made with their loved ones during those moments. By remaking a traditional Hakka poonchoi with a vegan twist that always brought back happy childhood memories with his family, Aaron showed through the film how he paid tribute to his ancestors with a new spin on an old tradition, connecting past, present, and future generations.

“Tradition connects generations and my family tradition starts with the making of a meal of love. Making this dish has made me see the love and devotion that seeped in it, along with The Macallan A Night On Earth In Scotland, it is packed with joyful memories and generational love. At the end of the day, it is honouring the memories that came before, and the moments to come. Tradition is a gift time has bestowed upon us, so we should cherish every moment of it.”
