Romantic Italian Restaurant near Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC) – Tatto

The main dining area

Janet and I recently visited Tatto at 157 Hampshire along Jalan Mayang Sari in downtown Kuala Lumpur to try their upcoming Valentine’s Day 2020 menu. The 5-course set menu is available on 14 February 2020, priced at RM399+ per couple.

Walking into the establishment, you’ll be transported into a warm and elegant restaurant with dark wooden furniture befitting a venue that’s most suitable for romantic dates. The pizza oven in the corner, as well as the wine cellar and lounge add to the whole ambiance while the long L shaped bar is conducive for pre/ post-dinner drinks.

Tatto is a friendly Italian restaurant and bar which first began in 2009 along Jalan Damai, before moving to the current location some years back. Tatto prides itself as being a modern ItaIian restaurant with a Malaysian touch, with Chef Jue helming the kitchen. Tatto is a rather large restaurant with multiple sections, and is suitable for a host of different occasions, be it a business lunch, a romantic candlelit dinner, birthday/ anniversary celebration, or even a casual night of pizza & wine at the bar with friends.

The Amuse Bouche of tuna and salmon ceviche, marinated for 24 hours, and served in a spinach “ice cream” cone was refreshing and provided a little preview of Chef Jue’s culinary skills!
