ASUS Malaysia Launches New (2019) Zenbook Laptop Series in Conjunction with their 30th Anniversary Celebration

Headed over to Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur on 14 November 2019 for the ASUS 30^th Anniversary celebration and grand launch of their new ZenBook laptop series in Malaysia. Entitled “Wiser Together”, the event featured the groundbreaking dual-display ZenBook Pro Duo and Duo, new ZenBooks with second-gen touchpad displays, and a special white leather-wrapped 30^th Anniversary “Edition 30” ZenBook.

Established in 1989, ASUS has grown to become the world’s no. 1 motherboard maker for two decades. In the first half of 2019, ASUS became the world’s no. 3 and Asia Pacific’s no. 1 consumer laptop brand.

Contributing significantly to ASUS’ stellar APAC performance, Malaysia saw ASUS achieving dominant no. 1 positions within the same first half of 2019 in the consumer laptop market with a 31% country share, and also in gaming laptops where ASUS achieved 48% market share. This means almost one in three consumer laptops and one in two gaming laptops purchased in Malaysia in 2019 was from ASUS.

 

 

Designed to entertain, educate and enthrall creative professionals and enthusiasts, the Wiser Together event centered on the groundbreaking ZenBook Pro Duo and ZenBook Duo. These unique laptops have secondary displays which are ideal for multitasking and doing creative production work on-the-go.

Malaysian content creators, YouTube and Instagram stars including fashion & lifestyle blogger Jane Chuck, fashion designer Kittie Yiyi, video creator and DJ, Phei Yong; and acclaimed director and co-founder of production studios theGRIMFLIM, Jared Lee, shared insights into their work and techniques, and their experience using the new ASUS laptops.

 

First announced at COMPUTEX 2019, the ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo (UX581) with a 15.6-inch touch display, and the ZenBook Duo (UX481) with a 14-inch display, are groundbreaking ultraportable laptops featuring the new ASUS ScreenPad Plus – a revolutionary full-width secondary touchscreen that expands and enhances the interactive capabilities offered by the original ScreenPad.

ASUS ScreenPad™ Plus features a full-width 4K secondary touchscreen that works seamlessly with the main 15.6-inch 4K UHD OLED touchscreen, giving users various ways to optimize and personalize their workflow.

A series of handy built-in apps helps to boost productivity. Quick Key allows one-tap automation of complex keyboard sequences, and Handwriting lets you input text intuitively. There are also useful quick controls such as App Switcher, ViewMax and Task Swap for intuitive interactions between the main display and ScreenPad Plus. Task Group lets you lock into work mode by opening multiple tasks with a single touch. And now you can drag apps or in-app toolbars onto ScreenPad Plus to give you more room to work on the main display.

 

Both models also feature the latest Intel Wi-Fi 6 with Gig+ (802.11ax). The 802.11ax standard provides future-proof technologies, higher network efficiency, faster Wi-Fi speeds, greater coverage and improved battery life for connected devices, providing a significantly better networking experience for users.

 

ZenBook Pro Duo (UX581)

Features: Designed to be the ultimate laptop for creators and designers, the larger ZenBook Pro Duo (UX581) features a 15.6-inch 4K (3840 x 2160), Pantone validated, VESA Display HDR True Black 500 Certified OLED touch screen, and delivers extreme performance for effortless creativity with up to 9th Generation Intel Core processors, up to 32GB RAM, and an NVidia GeForce RTX 2060 graphics engine.

ZenBook Duo (UX481)

Feature: The more portable ZenBook Duo (UX481) is better suited for business multitasking and offers a 14-inch FHD (1980 x 1080) Pantone Validated IPS LCD (non-touch) display. It is among the world’s first laptops to feature a 10th Generation Intel Core i7 CPU, along with an NVIDIA MX250 graphics engine.

 

ASUS also introduced the new ZenBook series:

• The 13-inch ZenBook 13 (UX334)
• The 14-inch display ZenBook 14 (UX434)
• The 15-inch ZenBook 15 (UX534)
• A special 30^th Anniversary Edition of the ZenBook 13 known as the “Edition 30”

These new ultralight and ultraportable ZenBook models boast the smallest footprints in for their respective display sizes, a feat made possible by the frameless NanoEdge displays that creates up to a 95% screen-to-body ratio that maximizes the screen area in the minimum physical space.

  

  

They also feature the ScreenPad™ 2.0 display touchpad that now has a larger 5.65-inch touchscreen which offers many new features and benefits. This interactive secondary touchscreen enhances productivity, allowing for more efficient workflow. It includes a collection of handy ASUS utilities to boost productivity: Quick Key enables one-tap automation of complex keyboard sequences, Handwriting for natural text input, and Number Key for rapid data entry. The revised smartphone-like interface is more intuitive for improved ease of use. Third party developers can also use the ASUS API to optimize their software and user experiences for ScreenPad 2.0. The hardware is now also more energy efficient than its predecessor, allowing for 2.5X longer battery life when ScreenPad 2.0 is in use.

  

To celebrate ASUS’ 30^th Anniversary, a special version of the ZenBook 13 (UX334) known as the “Edition 30” version was also launched. This is a special, limited production run model features luxurious design accents including a genuine leather lid cover and an 18-karat rose gold plated logo; and exclusively equipped with a complete set of premium accessories. It also features the ScreenPad 2.0 touchpad display.

ZenBook Edition 30 is exclusively equipped with a complete set of premium accessories, including a Pearl White mouse, a leather-look box and mouse pad, and a genuine-leather sleeve.
