Swiss Watch Gallery together with Florentine high-end luxury watchmaker, Panerai celebrated the official opening of Panerai’s first standalone boutique in Malaysia, located in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur.

Reinforcing Panerai’s presence in Southeast Asia, the 873 square foot boutique – 4th in Southeast Asia and 81st in the world, was designed by leading Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola and illustrates the brand’s global retail concept and core values.

More than 100 guests comprising VIP customers, corporate captains, retail and media partners and Friends of Panerai Southeast Asia, graced the cocktail evening in the presence of Panerai Southeast Asia & Oceania Managing Director Giacomo Cinelli, Valiram Executive Director Sharan Valiram, Italian embassy’s Charge D’ Affaires Silvia Marrara and Pavilion Retail and Leasing Senior Director Lovell Ho.

Designed with an ideal blend of tradition and of the future, the standalone boutique seeks to immerse clients in a sophisticated environment and invites them to discover the brand’s heritage, craftsmanship and technical expertise. Recurrent elements in all Panerai boutiques like walnut wood and brass – a metal which recalls the world of sea and ships – together with delicate veining floor tiles that represent lightness and wavy grooves on the Mafalda chairs have been purposefully selected to reflect the philosophy of the Florentine brand.

At the opening event, guests were introduced to the new Panerai collection which recalls an epic, hostile underwater realm with multi-sensory installation featuring impactful imagery of mighty marine creatures such as the ravenous sharks and venomous octopuses, amidst the aquatic habitat of rocks, sand and shells. Guests were also treated to a night of experiential experiences.

“The debut of first standalone and our latest global retail and brand concept here in Kuala Lumpur seeks to reinforce Panerai’s presence in Malaysia and in the Southeast Asia region,” says Giacomo Cinelli, Panerai Southeast Asia & Oceania Managing Director.

“It is an honour for Swiss Watch Gallery to partner Panerai in Malaysia. This new partnership further consolidates our position as a leading luxury watch retailer in the region. We look forward in working hand-in-hand with Panerai in providing exceptional experience for our valued customers in this state-of-the- art boutique,” says Sharan Valiram, Executive Director of Valiram which own and operates Swiss Watch Gallery.

Presented at the opening event were the Submersible collection watches, including the latest Panerai Marina Militare Carbotech TM 47MM (PAM00979), a professional underwater watch with decidedly military look dedicated to the historical partnership between the brand and the Italian navy.

Also showcased for the very first time in Malaysia are four new Radiomir watches – Radiomir 45MM (PAM00995), Radiomir 48MM (PAM00997), Radiomir GMT 45MM (PAM00998) and Radiomir GMT Power Reserve 45MM (PAM00999) – with a definitive military green dial that reinforces their strong historical identity. Available exclusively at Panerai boutiques, the new Radiomir watches stand out from a mechanical point of view with a wide range of calibres, all entirely executed by Panerai Manufacture in Neuchatel.

The Panerai boutique is located on the second floor (Lot 2.46.01B) of Pavilion, KL.
