Gout de France or Good France is back on 21 March 2019 which sees the world’s biggest event celebrating French gastronomy happening in over 150 countries. Organised on the initiative of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs and Alain Ducasse, Good France was first held in 2015, following UNESCO’s decision to put “gastronomic meal of France” on the intangible cultural heritage list.

This year, Good France enters the 5th year of the event which will see over 5,000 chefs participate across 5 continents over 4 days of events celebrating responsible cooking.

Following on from COP21 and the French National Food Conference, France is at the forefront of global environmental action. The Good France key event showcasing France’s gastronomy will be taking a greener approach in 2019 aimed at better respecting the planet’s resources.

On 21 March, chefs from around the world will be cooking up a French-style dinner, with a focus on more responsible cuisine. In Malaysia, one of the restaurants participating in Gout de France this year is 2OX Kuala Lumpur which has their special menu available from 21 to 24 March 2019.

French Bistro Afternoon Tea at 2OX Kuala Lumpur

One fine Sunday afternoon, we headed over to 2OX Kuala Lumpur for their French Bistro Afternoon Tea which is available every Saturday and Sunday from 2:30pm to 5.30pm, priced at just RM70+ for two pax (price is subject to an additional 10% service charge) which makes it one of the most value for money (premium) afternoon tea offerings in town!

The top tier of the set has the savoury creations like Chicken Sandwich, Focaccia with Trio Of Dips, Scrambled Eggs With Fine Herbs and Smoked Salmon.

The dessert platter features some sweet treats namely Lemon Madeleines, Vanilla Crème Brûlée, Gâteau Opera, Tart Du Jour, Profiteroles and Assorted Macaroons.

The afternoon tea also includes a cup of black coffee or tea for each person.
