Launch of MAZE Gin Parlour and Coffee Saloon at Menara Lien Hoe, Tropicana

Headed over to Menara Lien Ho in Tropicana on 27 April 2017 for the launch of MAZE Gin Parlour and Coffee Saloon, the third and latest entertainment outlet by M Group, the company behind CHAZE (Whisky Luxe Lounge) and LAVO (Restro Wine Atelier). The launch party saw a free flow of champagne and gin & tonic with pushcarts serving assorted fruits and herbs to compliment.

MAZE is a coffee saloon during the day that converts into a gin bar at night with over 150 imported craft Gins and soon-to-be-introduced gin-based cocktails, and was opened for business earlier this month. The selection of gins offered at MAZE encompasses complex but flavourfully distinct gins to purist-inspired good ol’ G&Ts, and everything in between, hence catering for both connoisseurs and amateurs.

The name MAZE was inspired by the secret paths and openings that lead to the parlour: there’s one that can be accessed within CHAZE (hint – the door is cleverly disguised as part of the wall near the pool table), and another through the semi-spiral staircase from Lavo. The interior is classic and tastefully furnished with long velvet drapery, upholstered sofas and chairs, pushcarts that bring drinks right up to you, accompanied by the tunes of lounge music.

The launch opening kicked off with a saxophone and pianist from SYLK band performing a mix of classic and contemporary tunes. There were also mime artists going from table to table keeping guests entertained with their unique and comical antics.

Mr Benson Tay, Director of M Group officiated the opening of MAZE with the pouring of Gin into a customized carved ice sculpture using a gold shaker, and received the liquid into a goblet glass at the other end of the sculpture.

“MAZE is a one-of-a-kind concept where we specialize in all things Gin. There is a lack of specialized Gin bars in Klang Valley and this is where MAZE stands out. Our Gin parlour is well stocked with over 150 imported labels and we will have more bottles coming in together with gin cocktails whipped up by our in-house mixologists soon. We have managed to fill the gap in the market by this offering for all Gin lovers in Klang Valley. With MAZE, our expansion plans are coming together perfectly.” Tay explained.
