Signing Ceremony between HWL Jewellery Trading Sdn Bhd and Swarovski

Stephanie and I attended the signing Ceremony between HWL Jewellery Trading Sdn Bhd and Swarovski on 25 January 2017 at the Hotel Istana in Kuala Lumpur. HWL Jewellery Trading Sdn Bhd, has been active in the Malaysian jewelry industry for over 30 years, serving over 600 jewelry retail shops across Malaysia.

At the event, HWL Jewellery Trading debuted a new brand name called C88 Premier for the line of products that will be collaborating with Swarovski, utilizing only the highest quality Zirconia (synthetic diamonds) from Swarovski. HWL Jewellery Trading believes this will be a game changer in Malaysia’s jewelry industry as it is the only company in Malaysia that will be collaborating with Swarovski for its Zirconia and Gemstones line of products.

HWL Jewellery Trading was founded in 1985, with the name of Hup Weng Lee Jewellery Trading Company, carrying the brand CAP88. In 1997, the company was registered as a private limited company (Sdn Bhd), known as Hup Weng Lee Jewellery Trading Sdn Bhd, while maintaining the brand CAP88.

In 2009, the company was renamed as HWL Jewellery Trading Sdn Bhd, with the brand changing to C88. That same year, HWL moved into the Menara Perdana industrial building in Georgetown, Penang, with their own jewellery processing plant.

2017 was a significant year for HWL with the co-branding collaboration with Swarovski – the renowned international company that producing gemstones of the highest standard.

C88 Premier has strict quality control in every single manufacturing process which is possible due to the company having their own jewellery production plant. Their diamond-standard quality stone setting craftsmanship is usually only commonly found in premium jewelleries, especially diamond jewelleries because of the complexity and the long hours of work involved.

Each and every prong – which are the so-called ‘teeth’ that are holding the stones in place) is carefully crafted and features a smooth and polished surface as compared to standard quality techniques which will leave scars and marks which leads to rough and dull surface. The gaps between each and every stone is identical, and the placement of the prongs features parallel and symmetry dimensions.

The company achieved the above thanks to the constant outlay of investment on machinery and new technology to ensure continuous improvements and innovations in their product offerings.
