The main highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the fashion show previewing the Braun Büffel’s Spring/Summer 2017 collection. The show presented the latest Mexican inspired leather bags, paired with the brand’s timepieces and eyewear, highlighting the season’s fashion and functionality elements.

The Spring/Summer 2017 Frida, Chiapas, Acapulco, and Merida women’s collections debuted melding soft, demure exteriors with bohemian glamour and sophistication. The Frida Kahlo-inspired colour-blocking of the Frida goat leather collection was paired with a Braun Büffel BB1012 ladies’ timepiece, with its polished steel case, eight (8) Swarovski crystals and calf leather strap.

The Merida collection’s unique front slot closure was inspired by Mesoamerican Aztec geometric symbols, while the Acapulco carryall totes and classic bucket bag structures of the Chiapas collection exemplified Braun Büffel’s timeless style combined with artisanal craftsmanship.

The Spring/Summer 2017 men’s collection featured the sleek, compact Playa backpack, the refined yet rugged Cabo collection (complete with statement vintage gold buckles), and the sartorially astute Leons collection, which bore a distinctive inverted apex-shaped front clasp closure – a nod to Mexico’s volcanic terrain. The Playa and Leons collections were both paired with the Braun Buffel BB1013 timepiece: a bold, modern quartz movement watch featuring a large date window, a day retrograde, and a second subdial on its multilayer dial.

The Navajo and Chica collections from this season’s Print Series collection, featured melding geometric motifs with enchanting colours. Based on the richly textured indigenous traditions of Aztec art and symbols, the Chica collection was inspired by the sun-worshipping culture of the ancient Aztecs, while the Navajo collection drew its inspiration from the mystical legends of Aztec warriors.

The Buffy & Bully Series collection showcased an eclectic imagining of the playful characters of Braun Buffel performing the traditional Jarabe Tapatio dance in three-dimensional leather detailing, against the fiery, vivacious Mexican cityscape.
