Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (Digi) launched its new Digi Postpaid plans at The Row in Kuala Lumpur on 1 March 2016. The new plans promises customers more Internet quota as well as the ability to rollover unused quota to enjoy in the following month. The new plan, simply called Digi Postpaid, caters to customers who are showing a strong, growing appetite for internet access and digital services to match their social lifestyle.

Christian Thrane, Digi’s Chief Marketing Officer said at the launch of the new plan: “We’re always closely following customer demand to find new and innovative ways of serving our customers better with products and services that matter to them. With Extra Internet quota and Internet Rollover, we’re addressing today’s customer demands.”

“But it’s more than just giving customers extra Internet quota – we also asked ourselves, ‘what can we do better to change the way this industry thinks and serves customers?’ We’re starting with Internet Rollover – if they didn’t use their full quota, they shouldn’t lose it. But to give the best experience for customers, we combined that with other great digital services and features that will help them save money so they can enjoy Internet the way they really want to,” Thrane said.

Digi has included Unlimited Social Messaging and access to apps and digital services from Digi such as the Digi Music Freedom pass and Capture cloud storage. Digi Postpaid customers will also enjoy other benefits such as bundled subscription to iflix’s streaming video service as well as the convenience of buying the apps on Google Play Store without the need for a credit card.

The Digi Postpaid plan will offer consistent high-speed Internet access (where available) through Malaysia’s widest 4G LTE network while remaining future-ready for Digi’s latest innovative offerings in LTE-Advanced (LTE-A), Voice-over-LTE (VoLTE) and Voice-over-WiFi (VoWiFi). Digi’s 4G LTE network currently covers 72% of populated areas in Malaysia and is available in 150 major cities and towns. Digi’s LTE-A coverage can current serve 31% of Malaysians and is focused on key market centres before stretching out to secondary towns as part of the company’s aggressive rollout plan. Late last year, Digi announced that it has begun testing VoLTE technology and expects both VoLTE and VoWiFi to be rolled out later this year.

Another key feature is the ability to have more control over call and Internet plans via the MyDigi app which is available on the Android and iOS platforms. The app allows customers to monitor their usage, pay bills for themselves as well as other Digi subscribers and switch certain features on or off. New features to the app will be added regularly.

Family members on supplementary Digi lines now have the new option of choosing any plan that suits their usage and lifestyle. Previously, customers using supplementary family lines were limited to one postpaid call plan. Frequent and budget travellers too can enjoy savings with Digi’s new internet roaming rates that start from as low as RM10 per day.

“The new Digi Postpaid plans bring a lot to the table for our customers. This is our most comprehensive offering and we’re confident it will be well received,” Thrane said. “We’ve made some positive strides in gaining market share in the postpaid segment and this is down to our product team working hard to find the best combination of features that customers want. The efforts of our network team aggressively rolling out 4G LTE sites across the country making us now the widest 4G LTE network in Malaysia is also a huge value proposition for customers to make the switch to Digi.”

The new Digi Postpaid plans start from only RM28 per month with several options to cater to different needs, from more calls or more Internet. New and existing customers who switch to the new Digi Postpaid before 30 June 2016 will enjoy promotional discounts, to enjoy for life.

Casio Malaysia officially launched the all-new EXILIM EX-FR100 outdoor camera at the Pullman Bangsar on 10 March 2016. The camera is designed for those who enjoy outdoor pursuits and hands-free photo-taking and video recording and is a follow-up to the EXILIM EX-FR10.

Attending the launch was Mr Takashi Niida from the Global Strategic Marketing Division of Casio Computer Co., Ltd who shared the inspiration and innovation behind the camera’s unique design. Celebrities Juliana Evans and Iedil Putra also shared their personal experiences using the camera to capture their personal adventures.

“We were very excited to introduce the EXILIM EX-FR100 to the market as it is a product we believe users will truly enjoy – especially those who have a yearning for adventure. The Casio EXILIM brand continues to challenge boundaries of camera technology to continue bringing fun and innovative products to our consumers, taking into consideration their needs and wants whilst enhancing the overall user experience,” commented Mr Hiroyuki Sezai, Managing Director of Casio Malaysia Sdn Bhd.

Like its predecessor, the new EXILIM EX-FR100 features a rugged design with shock, water and dust resistance and can be easily operated single-handedly. The FR100 retains the detachable design which enables users to attach the camera module to virtually anywhere via an assortment of aftermarket accessories, and use the controller remotely to capture unique angles.

The camera comes equipped with a new 16mm ultra wide-angle lens, and can also be used for taking selfies, large group photos, as well as landscape photography while travelling or during outdoor activities.

The FR100 comes with the new Intelligent Interval feature which is designed for enhanced hands-free shooting on-the-go. The Intelligent Interval feature incorporates the EXILIM high-speed HS3 engine, sensing technology, and image analysis, to automatically select and save photos taken during high-speed continuous shooting, while leaving those with too much blur and slant for the users to go through at their convenience later. This new feature allows users to keep just the best shots while enjoying the moment as it happens instead of spending too much time on photography.

The Highlight Movie function allows user to create fun video montages of their activities or their holidays, by selecting both photos and videos from a specific day, and create a show-reel that can then be sent via Bluetooth®4 and the EXILIM Auto Transfer5 to the users’ smart device, which can then be uploaded onto social media.

Along with the launch of the new camera, Casio also launched new accessories designed for the FR100. The marine case (EAM-5) is waterproof for depths of up to 20-meters, and is even backward compatible with the EXILIM EX-FR10. An LED ring flash attachment (EAM-7) enables users to take images while in low-light conditions. Other accessories include the tripod mount (EAM-1), multi-angle clip (EAM-2) and a multi-angle belt clip (EAM-3).
