Headed over to Sky Bar, Traders Hotel Kuala Lumpur on 10 June 2015 for the Canella Bellini Sunset Tour Cocktail. The highlight of the cocktail was Canella Bellini which has been bottled by Canella since 1988 and is 100% made in Venice by the Canella Winery.
The story of Bellini goes something like this. Many years ago, a barman in a famous bar in San Marco Square in Venice invented a drink using white peaches, Prosecco and a few drops of raspberry, making a very refreshing cocktail which caught on with the Venetian people. So happen that during that summer in Venice, there was an exhibition by painter Giovanni Bellini whose trademark was to put a touch of pink in all his masterpieces, and thus the barman decided to name the drink after him.
Years on, Canella acquired the rights to bottle the barman’s recipe and after some adjustments, came out with Canella Bellini which is now sold all over the world including here in Malaysia.
The Bellini cocktail is composed of two parts sparkling wine, one part white peach juice and pulp from select, perfectly ripe peaches and a few drops of wild raspberry. Its natural ingredients are grown in the Venetian countryside in Italy; where the delicate white peaches are hand-picked when fruit is perfectly ripe, to maximize concentration of sugar and aromas. But don’t worry ladies, Bellini is not high in calories and is only 57Kcal/ 100ml and it’s only 5% alcohol. The drink also has no added sugar and no preservatives.
This classic aperitif is best enjoyed chilled, especially in hot climates like in Malaysia.
