MHB’s Jiayeen, Jenny and I headed over to the Kirin Glamping Night 2014 on 3 October 2014 at White Box in Publika Kuala Lumpur. The Kirin Ichiban Glamping campaign started in late August and ended on 21st September 2014, where lucky consumers who purchased in the on-trade segment and registered to attend Glamping Night 2014, or entered the contest online got to attend the party along with members of the media.
Next up was to make our very own little “stool/ chair” from cardboard boxes. Here are Jenny and Jiayeen creatively customizing their chairs.
I was certainly happy that dinner was one of the tasks to be completed ha ha!
This very cool girl band has the crowd singing and accompanying them with some improvised musical instruments like a shaker made out of an empty Kirin Ichiban beer can. And there was lots of eye candy…
Upon completion of all tasks, we submitted our completed checklist to be in the running to win the “prize of a lifetime”. The ‘prize of a lifetime’, which was revealed at the end of the night to be a 5-day-3-night trip to Japan which includes an exclusive tour of Kirin Brewery and an experience at the annual Chichibu festival.
I thoroughly enjoyed myself that night (even though I didn’t win the trip to Japan) and I think that the event was something fresh in the industry and set it apart from the dozens of events which are usually less engaging with the audience. Brands and event organisers should definitely learn from this event and not only make their activations a one-sided affair. After all, if a person has a very positive memory of the event it will definitely assist to reinforce brand perception and also brand recall. Well done Kirin Ichiban Malaysia! I can’t wait to attend the next Kirin Ichiban Glamping Night to see what they have in store.
